I'm a little curious about this actually. How did the extensions go through if it would push your 1992 payroll figure well past $100mil?

Because they're projections. I only have about $56 in guarenteed dollars next season. The rest are arbitration cases.

True, but the game factors those Arb figures into your projected payroll and reduces your ability to offer contracts up to the cap based on those figures.

My owner allowed it. I also offered a couple other contracts this sim.

That's correct, it shouldn't let you increase salaries past $100m. If you look at Washington for example, his $ available for extensions is equal to Salary cap - projected payroll (100,000,000 - 69,630,000 = 30,370,000) The projected payroll factors in arbitration figures.

In game, prior to the last SIM, VIR had a figure of $13,099,500 to offer in extensions. I fear it wasn't your owner that allowed the extension offers to go through, it was the game because you're the Commish.

Don't know what to tell you. It let me. I offered Poling and O'Hegarty the deals they were requesting plus 3 arbi guys were offered long term deals. It allowed me all 5 offers (only the 2 signed).

I'm not the Commish. W is the Commish. I sign in and export under my name, not as the commish.

Easy enough to test. Pat or elprez can just see if they are allowed to offer over the $ available for extensions on their front office screen. Nobody else has a budget large enough to test it.

I'm going to assume that these aren't accusations of cheating because (a) even under the Commish sign-on you can't override the rules and (b) it let me make the offers.

My only thought that I can come up with is that it had something to do with offering arbitration eligible guys contracts the same Sim? Is there a chance that that somehow effects the bottomline? All I know is I had like $25 to offer when I offer Poling and O'H

I gotta be honest, between this, the resim shots and the new injury witchhunt...I'm more than willing to hand over the reigns.

I don't think anyone is accusing you of cheating but something is definitely wrong. Let's wait until Pat or prez has a chance to test and go from there. If it let's them offer over the cap, there's no issue. If it doesn't, then void the contract that put you over the cap and the problem is solved.

Hope Brad doesn't mind me stepping in...but I will since I sent him the screen shots. When we were IMing about it, he came right out & said to me he doesn't think there's any funny business going on, just trying to figure out why the game would allow it.

No, I don't think you did anything untoward, but I have actually seen a case like this in another league with a cap. It will certainly allow a Commish to offer contracts above and beyond the cap. I've seen it happen and the Commish wasn't alerted to the fact that it was happening.
