      You would!

5-1. Good sim for our hitters, as a lot of them are really hitting on all cylinders right now.

          4-3.

Had an 18 inning game with Los Alamos, that we lost.
Barlow had a good week as closer. 6.1 innings of shutout ball with 9 strikeouts. Carr picked up two wins. The pen blew a 5-2 lead for Ignado Sanchez as he continues to pitch great. Pagan pitched good. Future looks bright.

              Pawtucket 2-5.

Started the week by winning at Dallas. 3 games above .500 starting to roll.........then visited Jackson Municipal Stadium (House of death) and just like our first 3 games of the season SWEPT! The "Storm" really has the Patriots number at home this year. Our road record sucks and the Storm is a big reason why!!!

Good news is no more visits to Satan's den for the rest of year. Need to salvage this month and hang in there. Oh and hoping Samuel Helmrich gets his head out of his butt soon.

4-3. What a weird week. Pitched well and hit well. Should have gone 5-2 if the pen didn't give up 5 runs in the bottom of the ninth against Maine.

If Denver ends up a game behind someone in the Pilsner or Wild Card, we are blaming Reyes and Rice.

                  4-3 (44-47)

                  - SP Ed Coville has been lights out since I stole him from Sin City. 2-0 this week with a 0.60 ERA and 0.87 WHIP.
                  - Ednams continues to hit like a beast, .407 for the week.
                  - Good to know I'd be 1 game back in the Bock, 5 back in the Lager, and 6 back in the Pilsner. Instead we're 17 back!

                  Trade Wire

-C Jeremy Windley is hitting .273/.378/.430 and can be had cheap.
                  - CL Bayer is still available. The guy has struggled this season but is still arguably one of the best closers in the game. Looking for BLB starting pitching.

                    Well that sucks.

                    Guides Lose Tino Surez
Tuesday, July 16th, 1991: Maine fans will be disappointed to learn that Tino Surez suffered a torn triceps while throwing a pitch in today's game. After the doctor informed the Maine Guides manager that Surez was expected to miss 4 months, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to step up their play until the starting pitcher could return. "You can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow," said the team's skipper.

This year Surez has a 9-4 record with a 2.97 ERA.

                      :)

That sweep really was one of the better series of the season for us. The pitching is really starting to get it together. Don Leonard pitched well coming off of his 2 inning, 5 strikeout performance during the All-Star game.

We sorely need to put together a nice sustained hot streak at some point. We've been too close to .500 for a long time.

                          1-5.

Getting frustrated and wish I could fire the whole staff at this point in the season. I knew I shouldn't have hired a former Bock manager....

Not sure how active we'll be over the deadline. We clearly have too many needs that can't be filled via trade.

Larry Headington needs to come back and put some life into us.
