I didn't even vote for Negron or Trujillo. I voted for Guzman though. I was surprised he didn't receive more votes.

I didn't think you did. You value OBP more than most.

I'm mostly kidding anyway, unless someone wants to start something and then we can see each other in the playground! Go ahead, Pat, I'm waiting. :)

But seriously, home runs/RBI is the only reason Negron got votes. We have 24 owners for a reason. The varying perspectives on what is of value and what isn't makes the league interesting.

I also love Guzman. You better resign him or hope I don't end up with a magical $15 MM next season.

After long hours of negotiation Carlos and I ready to announce the 1991 DL All-Star team. This has been one of the tougher teams to pick in my frequent stints as All-Star manager. For the record, I pretty much ignored all of Carlos' suggestions and just went with the guys I wanted.

          Freddie Thompson: 130 ERA+, 27.0 VORP, 11 QS, 3 CG, 6-6 record.

          Raul Carrillo: 105 ERA+, 17.7 VORP, 9 QS, 2 CG, 11-3 record.

Hooray for wins, one of the most overrated statistics in baseball.

Maybe, maybe not. Carrillo has a 2.87 FIP. He's been pretty unlucky.

Three members of the Storm make the All-Star squad. Very happy that Don Leonard made it- my staff has had a ton of no-decisions (especially McEvoy) and Leonard is no exception. He's pitched very well this year and should have a strong second half.

Joe Rojas is becoming one of the elite hitters in the game slowly but surely. Trading for him when he was in A-ball was one of the only smart moves I've made.

I love how, now that I am willing to discuss VORP with you, you have moved on to even more obscure and worthless statistics to support your arguments. There's just no keeping up with you.

It just depends on how you value players. I tend to favor predictive stats over descriptive ones. It's unclear which one we're voting based on.

I think Carrillo's pitched much better, but Dominguez has had far better results. The stats that you pointed out and the one I suggested support that assertion.

The IL Roster will be up a little later. Were having a small struggle trying to balance some deserving players with wanting to try to get a player from every team. In fact, one team is already a lock for a complete snub.

                      Who chose these teams?

The second best ERA in the DL. 2nd in Runs Allowed. In the Top 2 in numerous pitching categories and not one pitcher representing Denver in the All-Star Game!

Pedro Zamarida better hit a home run in the 8th inning of a tied ball game.

It might not be the best way to choose the team but generally when there is a tie in voting for a spot, I choose both players. That's what happened in this case. Carrillo and Brode were tied for the last auto selection so I added them both.

In other words, blame the voters (or Carlos).

I think my exact words were:

                                We already gave him Sanchez.
