    NEXT SIM: Sunday @ Noon

    ***

The ship should be just about righted at this point (I think).

Next SIM will be Sunday at Noon unless anyone has major objections about the short turnaround??????

I'm going to open up All-Star voting some time this weekend. Probably tomorrow.

    Good times, good times.
    The Great One!

    To many rings to count...

Everytime I make a sizeable trade, a losing streak follows. Lol, oh well on to Sunday sim.

Great weeks for Opio, Sanchez, and Krsnich....three players possibly changing uniforms before the trade deadline.

My closer controversy was solved rather quickly. Doug Hill is now down for 9 months.

Our recent draft pick Hans Gordinho will now take over.

No extra-inning games all season and in one week, we have three. Oh, baseball.

Yea, I knew we'd lose the series against Virginia because we always do and I didn't know who we played after. Sorry, Plastic, but it was Morgantown and 3-3 is fine with me.

                    3-3 (31-33 overall)

                    Good

                    - Just like Shaw Barnes becomes superman when he goes to Washington, SP Ed Corville gets picked up on waivers from Sin City and goes 2-0 with a 3.00 ERA for the week in Batavia.
                    - Marin continues his hot streak by hitting .500/.517/.714 for the week with 11 RBI's.
                    - 3B Ednams continues his quest for a 1st ever All-Star appearance by hitting .357/.419/.607 with 2 HR's, 7 RBI's, 3 BB, and 0 K's.
                    - The Muckdogs hit .329/.391/.444 as a team overall...one of their best weeks in recent history.

                    Bad

                    - Our bullpen killed us this week and led us to a 6.59 ERA for the week. Our great hitting was offset by our poor pitching.

                    Other News

                    - In other news for the first time in history Batavia debuts in the Playoff Odds at a whopping 0.9%. Baby steps people, baby steps.

                      Baltimore Bulldogs (37-27; 5 GB-Porter, 4GB-WC)

                      3-0 vs. HYU
                      1-2 vs. LOS

4-2 sim. I should be happy with the result but I'm not. We had two terrible late debacles by our pen. I need some help on the back end badly.

                      The Week in Review

                      - Is this kid, Jeremiah Alexander, a star in the making? I remember when I first promoted him to the bigs, one of the first things I noticed was his ability to get timely hits. If there was no one on base or we were winning, he didn't do well. However, when the pressure was on, as a starter or as a pinch hitter, Alexander seemed to be very adept at getting big hits. This past week, the kid jacked four big flies this past sim, and may have solidified a starting spot ahead of the aging, Romano Rodenas.

                      - For the first time this year (that I can remember) Ivan Garcia batted at or above .300. I'm thinking that the Dynes trade showed him that he can now be replaced if necessary.

-Lonnie Grady had another stellar outing, 8 innings, 7 hits, 1 ER and 5 K's. He was tagged with the no decision, but we pulled out the win so I'm happy.

                      Other News
                      - After just six professional games, Fumisato Yoshida, our 1991 5th round selection, is out with a fractured cheekbone. I wonder how that happened?
Its just one more reason, on the mountain of reasons, to not like the California organization.

                      - Loren Wallace made a quiet return to the lineup in the Los Alamos series, going just 3/12 and 1 walk. Los Alamos was not afraid of him at all. If we plan to catch any of the upper echelon teams in the IL, we need him to return to pre-injury form as soon as possible.

                      The Injured
                      NONE (fingers crossed)

                      Next

I'm quite happy to be done with inter-league and get back to teams that I know what to expect from them. We first stay home to face the injury-riddled, Playboys. Then we head to Davenport and wrestle with the surprisingly good and 1st place Brawlers.

                      Predictions: 2-1 vs. CHI/ 1-2 at DAV.
