Washington Bats - SIM 5 - (20-12; 1st)
2-1 vs. Philadelphia: L 5-6, W 7-5, , W 7-3
1-2 @ California: L 2-3, L 3-4, W 9-1
Worst sim of the (brief) season, 3-3. All three losses by one run. I'm normally on the winning side of those. Can't be too surprised though. Philly and Cali are two of the league's best.
The Good
How about waiver claim Shaw Barnes from Batavia?! His first game in a Bat's uniform, he goes 2/3, HR, BB, 2 RBI, 2 R. Against California he had a game with two walks and another game with two RBI. He will continue to start vs. RH pitching.
He wasn't the only one hitting for power this week. Catcher Mike Murdock hit four homeruns over a three game span. The six-year-pro is on pace for a career season.
The Bad
The slow start from Cristofor Villazon is really concerning. The 35-year-old vet is having his worst season by far. Six starts, 1-2, 5.45 ERA and worst of all a 1.55 WHIP. Villazon hasn't given up more hits than innings in a season since his rookie year. Maybe it's a slow start. Maybe he is still trying to shake off the issues he had in '90. Or maybe those 2,000+ innings and numerous injuries are finally catching up to the old man. Unfortunately for me, he is still on the books for $8,000,000 next season so he better turn this around.

He did put up a nice line though. I'll have to remember that when O'Rogan was a 6.8 ERA in July....Charlotte Knights - OSFL

Baltimore Bulldogs (19-13; 2 GB-2nd Place)
2-1 vs. DAV
2-1 vs. CAR
I'll take a winning sim, any week of the year. The Porter is looking extremely brutal to start the year, as there are no teams under .500. Looks like another street fight.
The Good
- After winning IL batter of the month for April, Wallace tops it off with another Batter of the Week Award to begin May. I can't expect him to continue to hit at this pace all year, but I'll take it since we obviously need him to hit like this to keep pace with Philly.
- The super-powered geezer trio of Sato, George, and Rodenas was in full effect this sim. All three guys hit over .400 for the week. Great job.
- Grady threw another gem, this time 6 innings, 3 hits, 7 K, 0 runs. He's also 3-0 this year. I may lengthen the leash a bit to see how far he's able to go.
-We called up veteran outfielder, Leslie Lacy, the previous week. Luckily we did as Campo injured himself this week. Lacy played admirably in his absence, hitting going 7/21 for the week.
The Bad
- Stafford will not be happy about this but he's moving to the pen. After a hot start, against Virginia, Wilmington and Philly, he's struggled way too much against Batavia and Davenport. I had been looking for a reason to move him and he has just given it too me.
-Coy McPherson is starting to get a little pissy because he's not starting.
Dude, you have 2 Hall of Fame players in Sato and Campoveroe and a potential Hall of Fame player in Wallace (if he can continue at this level), playing in front of you. You will not start. Furthermore, you are not playing well and there is another kid tearing the cover off the ball in AAA. You probably need to zip it right now.
The Injured
Campoveroe injured himself hustling for a triple in our 7-2 win over Davenport. He was out for the week with "back soreness." Cesaro, you 36-years old, you can't go sliding into third like its 1980. Love the hustle but we may have to puts some reigns on you when you are on the base paths.
Next
-We head to Virginia to hopefully get revenge on a team that just unloaded on us opening week. We also face the Wildcats who are in a rebuilding year.Last edited by Delandis; 10-17-2010, 07:01 AM.

Now he'll get a big head and will be hitting up Strip Clubs instead of hitting up batting cages.
He probably won't start hitting the clubs until Papa Campo retires. Cesaro cracks the whip on candy-assed outfielders.
