Still in first place. 9-1 on the road so far this year.

Negron is an animal. 8 home runs in April.

Remind me. What are the rules for Rule V selections? Amailla's been brutal and I need a roster spot. Can I offer him back, and send him down if he's not wanted back? I think that's how it works in MLB.

    We rule.

We've always had it where you have to send him back to the other team, I do believe.

I want to send him back. How does that work? Does Clay send him back in game?

Baltimore Bulldogs (10-9; 2nd in the Porter)

          2-1 at Philadelphia

          2-2 vs Batavia

Pulled out good play against the division leading Freedom, which was encouraging. Not so encouraging, our play against Batavia at home. Batavia is just built well to win in Baltimore.

We put together a good week of pitching boasting a 3.45 ERA this week. A winning sim is always a plus.

          The Good
          - Wallace is continuing where he left off in 1990. I'm thinking last year was no fluke as he torches Philly in Philly going 8/11 with 3 doubles, 1 home run, and 2 stolen bases.

          - I can't say enough about the addition of Ron O'Fallon. The kid has some question marks with his ability to hit against lefties, but he's lights out against right-handed pitchers, so far this season. .389/.489/.500 against righties hitting 5th is why our offense can move runners.

          - 2nd year pitcher, Lonnie Grady, threw a seven inning gem at Philly against a lefty heavy lineup. Only allowing 2 hits, we went on to shut out Philly 7-0. Very impressive and hopefully that's a light bulb turning on for him.

          The Bad
          - Just as impressed as I am with Grady, I'm equally unimpressed with the performance of JJG. His sub-par starts have put us in tough positions and have resulted in 3 losses. It may be just early season rust though, as he has pitched "ok" the last two starts.

-Ivan Garcia (2B) continues to play poorly, hitting just .155 this month. He has lost the lead-off spot to Takanibu Sato, and has been relegated to batting 8th or 9th in the order. I'm pretty sure he didn't start last year well, but it wasn't as bad as this.

-Jorge Lorral (SP) may not be able to compete against the highest levels of competition. He completely dominates Wilmington and Batavia but gets manhandled by Virginia and Philly. I hope he can kick it up a notch to compete against these higher performing opponents.

          The Injured
We are back at full-strength, as Akira Abe (SP) returns to the rotation next week.

          Next
-We finish out out inter-division play with 2 games at California and vs. Philly. We then head to the Chi, to face the Playboys.

Just wasting time until my class starts and found this:

            http://www.simgamingnetwork.com/blb/utilities/StatsLab/teamHist.php?team_id=11&page=yearTen&year=1991

I'm probably late to the party but either way, I thought it was pretty cool.

There are some nice new utility features. Paints the league in a whole new light. Amazing work by the developer.

                  Washington Bats - SIM 3 - (12-6; 1st)
                  1-2 vs. VIR: L 1-6, L 2-7, W 3-0
                  3-1 vs. WIL: L 4-10, W 4-2, W 6-5, W 3-1
I would have wished for a better showing against Virginia, especially at home. However, I at least made up for it by beating down Wilmington, taking three of four.

                  The Good
After a rough Spring Training and first start, fourth-year pro P.J. Brooks has really turned it around. Three starts, 17.2 IP and just two ER. Now if he could just get a little run support...

Could be a little early for campaigning but I think at season's end Derrek Tucker might be your IL Pale Ale Winner. So far this season, four starts, 30 IP, 33 K, 4 ER, 1.20 ERA and .83 WHIP. His biggest competition could be in his own rotation.

                  The Bad
Larry Fitzsymons is in danger of losing his starting job. This comes a week after Carlos Bamentos was benched. Fitz is currently hitting .219 and has not been efficient at stealing bases. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of others options so if he doesn't turn it around I might have to make a trade.

                  The Farm
Four starts, 29.1 IP and only 20 baserunners for Pat Daneils. The Triple-A pitcher is currently boasting a .68 WHIP. He is my #1 option if a BLB Starter goes down with injury.

                  The Injured
Larry Fitzsymons and Robert Abbott were both hurt and will miss a week. Never good to lose two starters at the same time but it also gives opportunities to bench players that might create a spark.

                  What's Next?
Two @ Morgantown. Two @ Virginia. Three vs. Davenport. After seventeen straight games, after this week, a day off.

That's cool. Found out there's only 5 active members of the 1978 Denver Bulls team still playing in the BLB.

Current Bull Pedro Zamarida and four guys playing elsewhere: Tim O'Fay, Leonel Tesina, Joe Soto and Joe Arredondo.

                      3-4

                      1-2 vs. Cali
                      2-2 vs. Baltimore

                      Good

                      - We scored 14 against Cali, and 13 against Baltimore. It's nice to see our offense explode like that.
                      - With point one we hit .301/.375/.490 for the week with 8 HR's...by far the highest we've had in 2 season.
                      - Ednams is playing lights out. This week he hit .515 with 2 HR's, and 6 SB's.
                      - The bullpen of Crossman, Petro, Crossman, and Huder...0 ER for the week.

                      Bad

                      - For some reason the manager started Chet Stephens. Not only is he in the bullpen but he hasn't started a game in a year. Nobody was hurt, there were fresh pitchers. He proceeds to give up 5 runs in 6 inning in a 5-4 loss to Baltimore.
                      - We score 14 against Cali in the one game...3 the other two games.

                      On Tap

                      - Batavia announced the signing of C Jeremy Windley. He now gives us a fan interest of 100...tied with Virginia for #1 in the league. With that we have raised ticket prices from $11.50 to $14.00 and hope to continue to fill the seats.
                      - Time for our 1st season match-up with Philly. We played them well last season and hope the trend continues.

I love how Smear barely gives us credit for the series win and is already awarding his players with end of season awards when he wouldn't even win based on first 3 sims. I like the "desperate Bats" era.
