Hitting good, pitching bad, team average. This looks familiar.

One bright spot: Rule 5 pickup Brad Byers got three early starts at DH and responded with 2 HR, 1 2B, and 5 RBI. He might need some more PT.

              3-3

              1-2 vs. Virginia
              2-1 vs. Morgantown

              Good

              - Bovey comes in and does everything asked of him. .400/.556/.700 with 2 HR and 6 RBI's for the week.
              - Ednams also starts out hot hitting .360 with 2 HR's, 3 BB's, and 3 SB's.

              Bad

-Last season Bayer had 3 blown saves...the first week he has 2. I'm not sure if that's something to get excited about or not. Just a step away from a 4-2 sim. Frustrating but oh well.
              - De Jesus, new catcher May, and MacGruder all start out cold.

You're telling me. We scored 40 runs in 7 and gave up 30 in two?

Love opening day. As usual grabbed a hot dog and a beer, and finally watched an opening day victory over Los Lunas.

3-3 sim overall. Crappy offense, mediocre pitching.

Also, I probably overspent, but we signed Joe Gauina for 8 mill this sim. Two weeks left before his return from surgery. Even if his numbers are equal to his worst BLB season, he's an upgrade for the rotation. But I suppose that's a question mark.

                        Quick Hits:

                        - Love my team.
                        - Screwed up my rotation and got a jigsaw puzzle outing in Game 6. Still won.
                        - LOVE the speed on this team. Swiped 9 bags in one game against B'More.
                        - Yoritoki "Glorified Doubles Hitter" Maeda FINALLY... FINALLY hit the ratings my scout always saw. He's now #14 on the Top Players list.

Odd. It seems my manager wants to treat each game like its still spring training.

Here's an idea, lets not put my backup catcher in as a defensive replacement at 3B when we're up 1, ok?

                          Thanks,

                            A few more comments:

                            - Morgan and Trujillo look like front runners in the Refreshing New Brew race.

                            - The Millers are first in the league in runs scored and last in runs allowed. The pitching will pick up for sure. The hitting might not slow down a whole lot.

                            - Twelve years after giving Harcourt his big chance, I've given him another shot. He's a Miller on a $1.5M one-year deal. Not sure what role he'll be playing, but he still gets on base and can put a few over the fence in this ballpark.

                            - Despite being last in the league in every pitching statistic imaginable, we're also leading the league in strikeouts.

Disagree. I offered him over $6M. You still got a pretty good deal. I don't think he's done yet.
