  • Hometown Discounts?

I'm interested if others have seen the same thing. Malachi Stiver apparently was looking at giving Pawtucket a hometown discount. Although his requests were not very reasonable, they were less in years and money than his current insane demands.

Have other teams, Windy possibly with his noodle bat catcher free agent, seen it happen with guys who've now gone to free agency?

Joe Soca is an asshole by the way.

I agree on Soca. I think he wants to play for every BLB team before retiring.

Stiver has a 7 loyalty rating, while Windley has a 3. I think this is why Stiver would be more willing to offer a hometown discount.

He's well on his way. He turned down his player option for another season with me. I'd have liked to re-sign him, but it just wasn't possible.

How much was his player option for?

I think it was a little over $2 million. When I signed him it was a "3-year contract worth a total of $5,640,000 with the Carolina Tobs organization." He was asking for about 2.7 million to re-sign after he turned down his option, but I don't have the money. Is he asking for more now?

He's asking for 2/$11 mil. He's a greedy bastard even though his greed rating isn't that high.

Let's just say it's about doubled, at least for me. (2 years, 11 million)

Wow, I didn't think it would be quite that high. He's a good pitcher though, one of the better relievers in the league. I'd have loved to keep him, but I think I should still have a pretty good bullpen anyway.
