This is what I don't get:

Hartford tells California to delete the game from his computer if he feels he is taking it too seriously yet, because he (A LOT OF US INCLUDED) missed the thread that only a couple of people commented on it's tough titties?

Which is it? Don't take the game seriously or comb the forums with a fine toothed comb to make sure you don't gloss over the important thread mixed in the the not so important threads.

The simple fact is that the rule was discussed and implemented matter of factly. Hell, I requested ratings changes and we dwelled on that shit for over a week.

This is a discussion that should've taken place amongst the whole league and maybe even posted on the league front page.

Nice feedback. I see we're capable of having a well thought out discussion that results in a resolution that is best for the entire league.

I could see if this discussion was taking place amongst a bunch of 15 year olds, but some of the people here have years of OOTP experience and others are just smart enough to see the long term effects.

Again, I don't think anyone has an issue with compensation. It's a couple of things that took a few of us back:

1. The fact that two major systems were implemented at the same time.

2. The fact that the compensation discussion took place with only a few owners. If we missed it, we're sorry but we didn't see it. As Clay stated earlier, it's hard to get your arms around this thing when you don't have the numbers in front of you.

3. The amount of compensation.

4. Lastly, the "too bad, so sad" position taken by a few people on the subject. How 'bout a little common courtesy and hear people out that may have a legitimate point or a good idea?

No one is arguing that the rule is in place and we are all going to live with it. But, I think the whole "guess you should have said something 2 weeks ago" thing is out of line.

The fact is that anyone SHOULD have said something two weeks ago. You think the topic was brought up then just to fuck around for a bit until he secretely REALLY wanted to discuss it today? Gimme a break.

No give me a fucking break. I NEVER saw this as being something that was even on the radar for implementation this season. I saw no discussion and hence no support for the idea. I didn't realize that Andrew was going to put on his dictator hat and implement it.

You make it sounds like Stu owes us all his time and effort towards this league. You should be happy we even have some many realistic features installed in this league.

Now you are clouding the issue. Everyone's contribution is appreciated. You might as well be saying to us that we should shut up and take it and be damned happy we even have a league.

Unilaterally installing rules on the fly will kill the league and that, simply put, is what was done. As far as your team, I don't want a new damned team. I want the ability to compete with the team that I put time into. I am going to be severely hampered in doing this...so much so that I very much believe that I may have been wasting my time taking on this project team.

I disagree. I do have a problem with compensation. Disparity will increase given the financial system in place and the only factor will be the luck of the initial draft.

Yes, that is not productive. In fact, that doesn't allow the effects of either system to be judged accurately against known performance data.
