Most of this may be true, but I do take offense to (a) questioning my Seahawks fandom and (b) for the record, I probably lift more than Pat does and haven't played Softball in two years.

The rest of it is pretty good though...

Darn, we got waxed. Usually we are underdogs in the first round but it seems like most people favored us this year. Well, we see how that turned out!

              Good luck next round
We definitely did not see the Mississippi team that played throughout the year. Both of your strengths - pitching and offense - did not show up against Denver.

Again, I thought we were more evenly matched then being given credit for, but I would have thought this would have gone at least 6 games.

The playoffs are a crapshoot, though. Small sample size and Denver ran into a four-game series in which Mississippi played some of their worst baseball in 1990.

Close but no cigar. I think the 90's will be good for us. If only Wouters would've been injured a month earlier, we could've used him.

Either way I'll take 1 game away from the IL championship round for where we're at age wise.

Congrats Diesel you got me again. But we'll be back.

Im still trying to figure out how you only got 5 TOTAL votes for GM of the year. 18 game improvement. Wow.

Nothing against Maine, but they regressed by 14 games and somehow got 4 votes.

Not that anyone is asking, but I didn't give Jistic a vote and nothing personal (it never is with these things) but I had my reason and I figure I'll give mine so it helps him sleep at night. :)

You did improve by an enormous amount of games, but (and perhaps my reasoning disagrees with you and others) you also collapsed hard last year from years of respectful numbers to only return to where you have always been.

In other words, I saw last year as more an aberration of your talents as a GM rather than this year being a sudden improvement. Now, continued success should be applauded and it is one reason I gave Pat a vote. I try not to ignore guys that always win because that's what usually happens. There's only room for three votes, but even Andrew should be applauded for continuing to win even as key players went down. My vote went to Pat (in that comparison) because he had tougher competition over the years than the Ale has.

Jistic finds a way to continue to improve, return to his glory days and keep on winning and he'll continue to get my respect and eventual vote. I just felt like he was 4th on my list this year.

Carlos, wasnt directing anything at you. My first year trying to understand the voting logic. As time goes on I'll open up my mouth a bit (aka- when i overcome Maine)

Oh, no, I know. It's totally cool. I just felt like giving my reason.

I also voted you and Matt (Pittsburgh), but others did not agree.

I just think it's really interesting how all of us value these things differently. I'm still trying to figure out how I got a first place vote. Or actually why. I'm now seeing that McDonald got a vote for Last Call Relief. That boggles my mind but I'm sure whoever did it has their own good reason.

No one has to say why they chose whoever they chose, but sometimes I like to read the reasoning behind certain decisions. It isn't to argue it, but just to appreciate how we all value what we're given differently.

Also, Geoff Scott is getting robbed. That is all.

Funclown, I think you have me confused with Carlos (Denver), but I'll take the praise anyway, lol.

                              I'm with this, 110%.

I think that if anything, the difference in voting just shows how differently we all value players. Bottom line, there likely isn't one right way to value a guy, it's just that different stats weigh differently with some guys.

As far as the GM thing, I try to give props to guys that do well for an extended period or that come from a bad season to do well the next year.

I gave Jistic a high vote since he did well, despite being a small-ish market, and he does so year in and year out. The guy traded two of his best SP's and continued to do really well. Next year he'll call two or three guys up that dominate too. That dude understands this game better than I ever will, lol.
