I'm exported and looking forward to this first round matchup. I somehow finished with the best record in the DL so it will be nice to give the fans something to watch. We get Denver, who we faced in the 1988 DL Championship series.
The young starting trio of Don "Husk" Leonard, 17 game winner Jerry Ferrell, and unheralded UDFA Jermaine Lewis will start the first three games of this series. Veteran Dylan Lillie is slotted for Game 4. My rookie-laden bullpen is going to have their work cut out for them and I'll need them to come through. Getting the ball to Raul Reyes with the lead will be key- the guy is nasty, throws 5 pitches for strikes, and can dial it up to 100 mph. He's hopefully going to make himself well known during these playoffs.
Jared Kirby had a remarkable bounce-back year, having the second highest HR total of his career. He's going to need to keep that up. I stuck with Gary Lippincott because of his amazing defense and he started to pick it up with the bat in September- his elite defense and leadership were a big reason we were able to win nearly 100 games this year.
Lots of interesting storylines in this first round- its gonna be exciting!

I'm exported and ready to go. The only upset will be if we lose one game in our first round victory. We might tank one to get the extra gate revenue of a game 5.WINDY CITY PLAYBOYS

My lineups are in as well....
I'm going for it and activated Pancho Herrera in the hopes that there are no setbacks and this series is still going in a week. I've slotted him in the #1 and set "Start Highest Rested" in hopes that the AI will use him in what could be a critical Game 6 or 7.
The injury to Sammy Scott is a huge blow to the 'Pen and forced our hands to make a big decision. We've opted to move Jerry Collins out of the rotation and into the Setup role for this first series. Ivan Perez got a Starting nod over Collins strictly on slightly better splits against Philly this season.
That tough last week took a lot out of us and because of that Jayson McQueen ends up getting the ball for Game 1. Perez should follow in #2 followed by Magness and Morgan when the series heads to Virginia.
We've been in discussions with Vincent Nino's agent and told him a HUGE playoff run could net Nino a new contract in Virginia.
Here's hoping Woodbury's return to Philly is a good one.
This series would be a fun real life one. A lot of nice subplots. However, the Geoff Scott injury certainly is bittersweet. I can't say I hate missing one of the Top Players in the league... but I can't say I mind missing one of the Top Players in the League.
Good luck to you Brad!

In the other IL series... which I love this matchup... I'll support the Bats to represent.
In the DL... I'll take Maine and Mississippi. The Great One!

I was going to do a position by position breakdown of my series with the Bats, but I didn't like what I saw that way.
Sadly, I think the one thing that can save us is the one thing that can also get us swept... the unknowns.
Do I get 2 quality starts from Pancho Herrera?
Can my patchwork Bullpen show up?
Which Vincent Nino shows?
Does Gremades get healthy or have another setback?
And, I'd argue the #1 question... defense... do I get the version of my team that kicks it around and drops flyballs or the solid version?
A lot of questions... no answers... till Tuesday. The Great One!

It would give teams a chance to adjust mid playoff series but shouldn't take any additional time to complete. We have a very active bunch of owners who would be fairly responsive in such a case and the participating owners could post when they were ready for the next sim. It might add some additional intrigue to our playoffs. Thoughts?
And I must say...

I agree. The playoffs are here and gone way to fast considering the length of the off-season and regular season.
Sunday - 3 games
Monday - Off
Tuesday - 3 Games
Wed - Off/Game 7's
Thurs - 3 Games
Fri - Off
Sat - 3 Games
And it doesn't even have to be a set schedule like that. It would add a lot more excitement and writing about the series. It would also help off-set the horrible AI strategy and help coaches feel more in control for the series.

I think if someone wanted to write up a proposal, it might be worth considering implementing something similar in baby steps. Like maybe first season we implement it just for the Brewmaster's Cup. If it goes well we trickle it back to the LCS and BC. And so on...
Just remember, 2/3's of the league are out once the playoff starts and this is a league that traditionally likes a faster off-season, not a slower one.
That being said, I do agree... I think the playoffs go too fast. The Great One!

We could try it this year.
Thurs - 3 games of Brewmasters
Sat or Sun - 3 games of Brewmasters
If it goes to Game 7 then Monday night.
We were going to have an off-day anyway while waiting on Andrew to get back from drinking Zima's and laying on the beach reading a bromance novel.
