We are headed for a top 5 pick. Not that it's surprising seeing the lineups I'm fielding, but its still a little more disappointing than I expected, particularly with no minor leagues to follow. I'm beginning to worry about Hector Castre. He's just gotten shelled too many times lately. Hopefully it's just a bump in the road.

We did manage to sneak out one win behind a great game from Hector Perez, who's turned in a solid season.

The Good
- We didn't LOSE any ground against Virginia so we are still 1.5 games back. We did get a little cooperation from Morgantown and Wilmington, thanks guys, I won't complain. Also, a sweep of California to end the year is sweet. Take that Baltimore Bailout winner.

-I'd like all voters to take notice. Loren Wallace is hitting .353 away from Phillips Field this month. This is after he hit .305 in August on the road, .351 in July on the road. His road average jumped 10 percentage points in a week of play. We went 35-40, April-June. We've gone 43-25, July-Present. Some people say, its not how you start, but how you finish. I'm not saying, I'm just saying.

- I know, I know. I brag way too much about Loren "Mr. Overrated" Wallace.

So let me start talking about Ivan Garcia. Garcia has finally become the player we knew he could in be in Baltimore. He'll likely never become a first team selection to an All-Star game only because he plays in the the same position and in the same division, with the league's best player, Geoff Scott. Nevertheless, Garcia has been lights out in September, leading the IL this month in walks with 17 and a team high, .446 OBP.

The Bad
- We didn't GAIN any ground against Virginia. We should have done a better job against Batavia. Two critical managing errors lessened our chances against them. The first error was fielding our vs. RHB lineup against Orlan Coronda. He ends up throwing a jewel against my lefty heavy lineup. Our second error was relieving Chad Stafford in Game 3 with Joe McMonies, another lefty, against Batavia's right handed batters. To Bustavia's credit, they took advantage.

The Injured
-Cesaro Campoveroe injured himself again and is out for the rest of the season, which is a big blow to our outfield. His patience at the plate is unmatched, however, this does give Takanibu Sato free reign of right field. Hopefully he can turn it up a notch during the final two weeks.

Next
-We face Philly and Los Alamos in the biggest week since I've held the Baltimore reigns. It would be nice if both Philly and Los Alamos both laid down for us (that's what she said), but its not likely as Philadelphia simply likes to beat up on us, and Los Alamos is hot and looking to catch Chicago down the stretch. I can only hope that the Washington and Davenport put in their big guns against Virginia.
