Despite the losses, it was an entertaining series between VIR/BAL...still only 1.5 games back. So we'll need to take care of business next week and help from the Stout.

Does OOTP use the same "before Sept." min requirements for Rookie of the Year consideration?

SpoilerWashington Bats (89-48; 1st)
3-0 vs. Davenport: W 12-3, W 15-6, W 6-4
3-1 @ Los Alamos: W 6-4, W 6-2, W 6-2, L 1-7
You can't win 'em all! Wow. What a start to the month.
The Good
-The IL Player of the Week is Washington's Tex Briggs. The third baseman went 14-27 raising his D.C. average up to .280 since being acquired from Pittsburgh. My scout thinks he still has room to grow. I'm not sure he is the "3B of the Future" that I have been looking for since I joined the league, but he is young, can hit a little, lefty and plays good defense. Maybe a breakout '91 campaign if he reaches that potential.
-My whole team is pretty hot right now, especially in the Davenport series. 33 runs in three games isn't too shabby.
The Bad
-Tommy Lang contiues to struggle. This week he lasted just four innings, allowing six hits, two walks, three earned runs but did strikeout six. Even worse, the guy I expected to replace him down the stretch in the #6 SP spot is second-year SP Pat Daniels really struggled in his '90 debut. He had a decent rookie year for the Bats last year, was sent to Triple-A this year to work on a few things and looked like shit out of the pen this week. Four games. Six earned runs. Ten outs. Rough. I still might give him a look down the stretch...I also might try Lang out of the pen. Otherwise, he will be sitting on the bench throughout the playoffs.
The Injured
-Not too much to report here. Super-utility R.A. Grounds was hurt for a week. With the September roster expansion, this shouldn't be an issue and he will rest.
Next
-Three at Wilmington. Day off. Three versus Morgantown. I am 10-4 against Wilmington this year. I am 11-4 against Morgantown. I'm 8-1 in September. Probably means I'll go 1-5.Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-
Seattle Pilots- 2017-2041
Washington Bats - 1979-2013

From the OOTP manual:
Any player who had fewer than 130 at-bats or 25 innings pitched in his career before the start of the season is considered to be a "rookie".
Rookie eligibility is: A player with less than 130 at-bats, a pitcher with less than 50 innings pitched.Last edited by BradZ; 08-03-2010, 09:48 PM.Philly Freedom
