4-2 sim pulls us even with Denver. Snow gets a ND in his first start, but struck out 8 in 6 innings. Walked 5 or 6 as well though.

1B Dani Rodriguez wins DL Rookie of the Month and then promptly goes down for 4 weeks. We'll get him back in time for the stretch run, but there goes his shot at ROY.

      3-4

      2-2 vs. Carolina
      1-2 vs. Cali

Some quick thoughts since the utilities are broke (I miss you guys, please come back soon)...

      -15 injuries for the organization
      - All minor league teams are in 1st place
      - Since CL Basil P. got called up to AAA (27 games, 17 saves, 0.61 ERA, 0.78 WHIP, 36-8 K to BB). If only he would learn a 3rd pitch!

          4-3

          2-2 vs Baltimore
          2-1 vs Los Alamos

          - We're 4.5 back from a messy Bock
          - Could have won the series against Baltimore but recently called up Von Shanks gave up a run in the 10th
          - Vern Branch is tearing the cover off the ball right now. Won the IL player of the week
          - Doug Hill has been lights out for us in the 9th - 1.80 ERA in the past 45 games

          What's next?

          - Important Carolina series before beginning inter-league play.
          - Headington will make his debut in the cleanup spot.
          - Russ McEvoy will have to shake his current slump if we want to make a comeback.

EDIT: I need to learn my new player's last name.

Bad month for Denver baseball. Good month for Syracuse. Let the games begin.

I wonder how many more 1B we can lose this year to injury.

Team is clicking on all cylinders. R.A. Grounds make his return from the DL as well.

Not only are we not clicking on all cylinders, we may have actually dropped one. We don’t have an Elias sports bureau tracking weird statistical anomalies, but I’m going to go out on a limb and suggest that the Morgantown sweep of the Freedom, in Philly, has to be one of the unlikeliest series sweeps in league history.

-Coming into the game we were winning 67%+ of all our games and Morgantown was winning approximately 28% of theirs.
-Take that a step further and we were winning in excess of 70% of our home games; Morgantown had won 10 road games ALL SEASON.
-We lead the IL in runs scored; Morgantown is last
-We lead the league in ERA; Morgantown is next to last

I guess the Stout is just that good.

Suffice it to say, the fans are getting a bit restless in Philly. Back to back 2-4 SIMs and everyone is just left looking around the locker room wondering what is going on.

Oh well, as Ron Washington likes to say, “Sometimes that’s just the way baseball go.”

The Stout is just that good. Everyone knows the league is structured like this....

                    Maine

                    Stout Division

                    Everyone not in the Pilsner

Still, I'll take solace in our 9-1 combined record so far against VIR and WIL this year. There, now I feel better.

Its part of the Stout motto:

"Ignore our worst, overrate our best, and live in the past."
