ROANOKE, VA -
Play Ball '82, a group trying to bring Brewers League Baseball to Charlotte, NC, has announced the opening of a satellite office in Roanoke, VA to accommodate the unique opportunity to run Virginia's Double-A affiliate located in the city.
"If we're going to do this, we're going to do this right," said Play Ball '82 chairman T.J. Cutini. "Clay Shaver has handed the reigns of his Double-A affiliate over to us and we want to make sure he knows he made the right decision."
Cutini will travel back and forth between offices for the upcoming season. A man with plenty on his plate, Cutini is also trying to gain support for his group's effort to bring the BLB to Charlotte. With several events planned in the Queen City over the next few months, he will be a busy man.
"I've said all along that this won't be easy. I want to focus all of my attention on this Roanoke club and these kids that will be playing for us this season, while also focusing on our efforts down in Charlotte," Cutini said. "I'm not worried about giving more attention to one project than the other. I have a great group of people behind me and I can assure you, both jobs will be done and they will be done very well."
