SpoilerWashington Bats (54-30; 1st)
2-1 @ Carolina: W 8-4, L 4-5, W 4-2
3-0 @ Davenport: W 10-2, W 3-2, W 6-3
Did not expect a 5-1 week on the road. But, Davenport is 2nd worst in the IL and Carolina just had a fire sale...but I'll take it!
The Good
-How about my boy Tyrone Abbott? The 25-year-old rookie is tearing the cover off the ball. Now hitting .360 through his first 15 games. I love the platoon options he allows for my lineup. Not a very skilled defender anywhere besides behind the plate, he has done OK at 1B. Versus lefties, he moves to catcher and Murdock gets to rest his knees by playing a little 1B.
-Hindsight is always 20/20 and my deal for Joe Alveraz did not look very good at all initially. Since then, Alveraz has proven it to be pretty even. He picked up three more saves this week and the All-Star (no game being played this week) has had a phenominal season for DC. 2-1, 15 saves, 2.38 ERA and a .91 WHIP.
The Bad
-Come on injury gods! If you are going to give me some injuries, spread them out. Just a week after sending Clint Johnston and R.A. Grounds to the disabled list for a month, I lost yet another starting infielder. This time, it was hit-machine Robert Abbott. I mean shit, take one of my SPs, I have six of them! Take one of my RPs, I have a glut of back-ups ready to go in Triple-A! Or even take one of my catchers, I have three of them! Or an outfielder! Going to be very interesting looking for the next few weeks in the D.C. infield...let me tell you, 33-year-old John Fisher will make his Washington debut as the starting 2B after hitting .290 with a .898 OPS in Richmond.
Next
Six game homestand against Philly and Cali. This week we get to see the two best teams in the BLB slug it out. Lucky for me, it's at home. Lucky for Philly, my infield is made up of has beens and has nots, due to injuries.Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-
Seattle Pilots- 2017-2041

Oh goodness. Did Clay scare you that much that we're all doing spoilers in this thread now? I understand it for Clay... he has to check the thread as a commish... but for everyone else... I'd just avoid the thread.

Well, if you want to erase the history (or lack there of) Acid and Krhog built, that's fine... it only makes my rise to the top of the BLB that much sweeter.Last edited by Lintyfresh85; 07-14-2010, 11:14 AM.California Kodiaks - GM - 1982-2013
