There is run flaw in the new system.
When you want to sign a coach, you have to have an opening on your team, and offer the new coach that position.
This poses two problems:
1) If you don't have an opening, but want to upgrade, you'll have to release your current personnel first.
2) You can't make more than one offer for the same position
Now, the plus side is that it can all be done in the game. If you had to release someone to offer a contract, and then you don't sign the coach you were going after, you'll have to go after someone else. Still, i'm glad that we can do this in game.Los Lunas Javelinas - 1978 Brewmaster Champions!

That is desired by the coach, much like how players do it.Los Lunas Javelinas - 1978 Brewmaster Champions!

Right, this is going to take some adjustment. It is better IMO, then first come first serve like we've been having to do it though.Los Lunas Javelinas - 1978 Brewmaster Champions!

Here's what I meant:
I just picked up a few new coaches. I export.
Rubisco picks up a few new coaches...then he exports. Andrew does the sim. We both picked the same guys and they both signed with us...which team do they end up on?Dallas Snappers

That's what I answered. They decide who they want to play with. Although they will appear to be on your team until the sim is ranLos Lunas Javelinas - 1978 Brewmaster Champions!

Yes, that is correct.
Hopefully this changes at some point in the future. So we have the opportunity to do it in game, but we have to live with these flaws.Los Lunas Javelinas - 1978 Brewmaster Champions!

Well, here's one way to dance around it. Offseason, coaches are fair game, everyone can bid for their services. In-season, post in the coaches/scouts forum that you are offering a coach/scout a contract. This makes them off limits to everyone else. This will help us avoid some headaches should we ever have two GMs trying to sign the same coach/scout during the season.
I know it's rare that we'll have a coach/scout fired midseason, but it's still a good idea to have something in place.
