In what world is O'Hegarty better than Sanchez.

O'Hegarty has a worse BA. OBP. SLG. OPS. than Sanchez.

Clay will be happy to see that. See, this is the Porter's biggest weapon. In-fighting amongst the Stout owners. Their deep rooted hatred for one another will tear their team apart before we even reach the field. Porter wins by forfeit.

Pat I thought you gave up the sticky?

O'Hegarty isn't better than Sanchez or even Noah George. Padilla is definitely not better than Campo and Nago/Sato is a toss-up with the edge to the vet. Talk about Homer-ism.

            3. It's this year. Fielding a team. Who would you rather have starting at SS? I'd rather have O'Hegarty. In recent years, Sanchez is a .750 OPS guy who can't stay on the field. Only time he stays healthy is when he is a DH. O'Hegarty, in recent years, is .820 OPS guy. Look at their VORPS for the past five seasons and tell me who is the better player.

              We didn't say this year.

We're doing all-time teams with guys on the team this year.

Based on the statistics you cited, I'm going to assume we're talking about careers.

Sanchez is 36 years old and has played in 1418 career games.

O'Hegarty is 29 years old and has played in 1072 career games.

Despite Sanchez having significantly more opportunities, O'Hegarty is 2nd in BLB history among shortstops with 173.1 win shares, while Sanchez is 4th with 145.9 win shares.

If you're trying to value players' careers as a whole, you can't just use slash stats.

In all honesty, if we were are just talking right now, who would you take to the field with you at SS, I'd take my guy. Best defensive SS in the game and an offensive game that is really coming into its own right now. Give me Raul Carbajal. That's right, I'm a homer . . . but seriously, look it up.

I think its time to run the long awaited Divisional Championships this offseason. One or two managers in charge of each division, pick the teams and run the sims. Seven game series, winner advances to the next round. Do it...

Gave it up? Out of your mind.

O'Hegarty is better than Sanchez and George. Combined, you might get 150 games out of Sanchez and George.

Padilla is way better than Campo right now. Better fielder and hitter.

Nago/Sato is a toss-up? Sato hasn't been a great player since 1983. Nago has been a great player since 1985. Look at their VORPs the last five years and tell me who the better player is.

Didn't Andrew at one time mention a new feature in OOTP 11 that allows the cloning of players and its potential use for the WBC? If so (and I've said this before) let's fire up the division tournament in the offseason to replace the WBC. Shouldn't take more than a few days and needn't actually interfere with the normal offseason sim schedule, since it could be on the side.
