- We had a winning week...barely.
- A team ERA of 2.44, WHIP of 1.13.
- SP Athey went 2-0 with a 0.73 ERA
- CL Ken Bayer recorded 4 saves with a 0.00 ERA and 0.83 WHIP
- C Pat May hit .333 for the week as we slowly move him into the starting role
- CF Fehilly was 5 for 5 in stolen base attempts
Bad
- The Batavia bats are ICE COLD, team average of .203 this week and we are dead last in almost every offensive category for the year.
Disappointing
- We wheeled and dealed over my first two season to acquire a ton of picks...and now several years later we are dead last on the OSA Top Prospect chart with one player...who is ranked #96.
I've never really read the box scores (I'm trying to get more in depth into the game)...so this was cool to me. I like the Special Notes.
GAME NOTES

I know Spot has been away but something needs to be done about his minor leagues. Their Triple-A squad has only a few healthy players. I beat them 46-0 last game.

Myself and Gyro were just talking about him...it's very strange...he doesn't even answer e-mails. I hope everything is okay with the wife and baby (and for that matter himself).
I think Clay should put his minor leagues on computer management for depth chart/pitchers and sign him some minor league fodder. His guys are tired and are all hurt and it won't get any better.
Something else I just noticed...did you guys know we have a perfect prospect in Triple-A right now? Seriously, I think he might be the perfect player.
OSA has him rated 8-8-8 potential. He has a 75% groundball. He tops out at 101 MPH. Both of which, I believe, are maximum. He is 6'4 245lbs. He is a closer. He only throws two pitches, both 8's, fastball and splitter.
The Top Prospects List is all kinds of messed up, if you ask me. Just looking at my own prospects on that list and there are guys that should never be as high as they are and guys that are getting zero love.
Anyway, a good week in Denver. Nicely rebounded from a horrid clobbering. Pedro Zamarida is everyone's grandfather. Respect him.

I would, but I can't click on his name since it has no fancy link. And I thought I was letting the Pilsner down...
I don't even pay much attention to the top prospects list. It's been messed up for a while.
Sin City is happy to have Howard Haydon and Willie Crawford back from injury. The former will provide a much better infield glove and some more extra base pop from the SS position, while the latter will provide a much-needed lift for our disappointing bullpen.

Big week for the Bats! 6-1 week to take over the top spot in the Stout. Should have been a 7-0 week but my bullpen blew a lead and lost in extras.
The Good
-I don't know what has gotten into him but Clement Montgomery is about to have a career year. A career .230 hitter, the slick-fielding 3B is hitting .276 with a .736 OPS. He also has six steals on six attempts. If he can keep anything close to this up he will be a big, big surprise. I signed him for the league minimum and he might win a DUI.
-My whole team, really, is playing well. This week as a group, they hit .332 with a .939 OPS. Six different players went yard. Team ERA was 2.84 with a 1.01 WHIP.
-I guess PJ Brooks was right after all. For two plus seasons, Brooks has complained about not being in the starting rotation. I didn't think a low endurance pitcher with control problems would be a good fit but boy was I wrong. Looks like his control problem may have come out of frustrating for not starting. In his two starts this season, he is 2-0, giving up three ER over 11 IP.
The Bad
-I'm not going to complain about a 6-1 week. Come on!
The Minors
-I don't see him getting called up any time soon, but Manny Duran is pitching lights out baseball in Triple-A. This last week, he pitched a three-hitter, 13 strikeout, shutout. This season he has a 1.79 ERA and 1.01 WHIP.
What’s Next
Road trip! Three at Wilmington and four at Baltimore. It's a good time for a road trip with my team playing so well...I've played twice as many home games as road games thus far. Let's see what this team is made of.
