It's still pretty early to judge how they both will fair on the year but I like what I see. My scout actually lost a "movement" rating point for both Faircloth and Lang after I traded for them but they are performing well.

All this on a pretty bad AAA team. Unfortunately, he's an IF and we don't have space unless someone is moved or injured. The Great One!

Baltimore Bulldogs (7-5; 3rd)
2-1 vs. Los Alamos: W 7-6, L 2-4, W 6-4
1-2 vs. Wilmington: W 5-6, L 6-7, L 6-5
A 3-3 sim that should have been 4-2. Bulldog manager, Kip Stokes had a bit too much confidence in Tim Nathan in Game 2 vs. Wilmington. Through seven complete innings, Nathan has a 6-0 shutout. Stokes then allows Nathan to give up seven runs in the 8th before pulling him and we lose 6-7. Ouch.
The Good
The bats in Baltimore are looking very good to start the year. Every starter, except Curt Boyd, has an OBP above .380. This week also saw the season debut of having both Takanibu Sato and Noah George in the lineup, and they both look capable of hitting well for the season. As expected with old legs, George, Sato, and Campoveroe will have to take 1-2 days off week early in the season, and will be defensively subbed out at every opportunity.
The Bad
-The bottom of our rotation is very suspect right now. Both Morgan and Rivera do not possess the confidence necessary to start games, but as of right now, we don't have anyone else that I have even a shred of confidence in. I think Morgan may be able to put it all together to at least be respectable, however, Rivera is a bit tentative to challenge hitters. Watching the games, it seems that he gets an ass-load of 3-2 counts and then puts the batter on base. Hopefully, he can become a bit more confident, but I doubt it will happen this year, if ever.
On Tap:
We stay at home next week and host the best young player in the league, Scott and the Freedom. We then open up inter league play against Dallas.Last edited by Delandis; 06-15-2010, 12:28 PM.

By the way, as a Phillies fan, I think it's totally awesome that I have a player named "Von Haynes." And I didn't even need to trade five players to acquire him.SIN CITY GAMBLERS since 1990

Philly Freedom (11-3; 1st)
2-1 vs Wilmington: L: 2-3, W: 7-2, W: 6-5
3-1 @ Caolina: W: 11-6, W: 7-4, L: 5-7, W: 10-3
We certainly weren’t expecting to get off to this kind of start. The W/L record is surprising to say the least, but the fact that we lead all of the BLB in runs scored is unreal. Obviously it is a tiny sample size and we may just be on a hot streak, but even minus the over indulgence in run scoring, I like the way our offense is operating if that makes sense. I’m liking how we are going about our business.
The Good
- Joe Seagarra - off ot the best start in his 3 seasons with Philly. The guy is just killing it right now. For the week: .345 | .441 | .552 | .993.
- Pat Gibson - young kid who absolutely could not hack it in the BLB last season. He was overwhelmed. He went down to AAA for the last half of ’89 and posted a VORP of 25+ so we didn’t think he had much left to prove in the minors. I’m not sure he ever actually hits enough to be a BLB regular, but he’s off to a decent start this year and was really good this week: .333 | .448 | .500 | .948 and drove in a team high 8 RBI. He doesn’t have to hit for a high average to have value because he gets on base at a high rate, but he has to hit a little. Hopefully he can keep up his decent start.
- Joe Arredondo - bounced back from a rough start in week 1 to post two solid if not good efforts in week 2. He gave us 14.2 IP | 1.84 ERA | .95 WHIP for the week and earned a win and a no decision.
The Bad
- Don McNeill - We were afraid of this. The CL job is too big for him and he’s just not ready for the BLB. We’ll probably move him back to AAA for a little more seasoning. We like this kid a lot, but he’s just not ready.
What’s Next
Monday will be our first day of rest this season. Then we kick off a 9 game homestand, with 3 vs BAL and 3 vs SYR in our first taste of the expanded interleague schedule.Philly Freedom
