Los Lunas Waiver Claim
Commish, you can give SP Andy Adams back to Hartford (UMD). I made a number of waiver claims and free agent acquisitions just to get arms into my minor league rotations. (I thought we had ghost players active, but AI is starting my relievers in the empty rotation spots.)
Thanks.

Can the Owners below either here in this thread or via PM just confirm for me that you remember making these claims:
Monday, April 23rd, 1990
Los Lunas Javelinas: Claimed SP A. Adams off waivers from Hartford.
Pawtucket Patriots: Claimed SP J. Curry off waivers from Hartford.
Los Lunas Javelinas: Claimed SP A. Nace off waivers from Maine.
Batavia Muckdogs: Claimed MR Z. Zhào off waivers from Pittsburgh.
Los Lunas Javelinas: Claimed SP J. Jenkins off waivers from Hyundai.
Philadelphia Freedom: Claimed 1B L. Bolden off waivers from Mississippi.
Philadelphia Freedom: Claimed LF D. Turner off waivers from Dallas.
Los Lunas Javelinas: Claimed SP R. Rodríguez off waivers from Dallas.
Pawtucket Patriots: Claimed SP C. Nicholson off waivers from Wilmington.
Los Lunas Javelinas: Claimed MR G. Barrows off waivers from Carolina.
Los Lunas Javelinas: Claimed SP C. Shelton off waivers from California.
Just struck me as weird that all of these claims came through on the last day of the SIM instead of the first. That doesn't seem normal to me.The Great One!

I've seen tons of issues with people claiming players but never getting them but I've never seen an issue with somebody getting a player they didn't claim.

Washington Bats (8-6; 2nd)
2-1 @ California: L 2-4, W 5-2, W 8-4
2-2 vs. Batavia: W 10-1, L 2-9, L 1-5, W 2-1
Second straight 4-3 sim. I'm satisfied with a +.500 week against two of the IL's best (IMO). Taking two of three from the defending IL Champs feels great. Getting dominated by former Bat Carl "Pitbull" Pateshall however, does not.
The Good
-It's only been two weeks, but Clint Johnston is showing glimpses at his future potential. After a 13/23 week, the 21-year-old raises his season average to .383. My scout has always had him pegged for stardum, maybe it's this season? Miguel Angel Padilla could also be on his way to a career year. He was 11/26 this week, raising his season average to .327 and his OPS to 1.024. As a team we posted an OPS of .771 this week.
-The Baltimore Bailout was nice, but the Baltimore Mercenaries might be even better. Near the end of Free-Agency the Bats sent three draft choices in exchange for Bill Faircloth and Tommy Lang. This week they combined to pitch four games, 29 innings, 28 Ks and only 3 ER.
The Bad
-My bullpen as a whole has struggled, namely P.J. Brooks. He is upset for the second straight year about not being in the rotation and it is clearly affecting his play. He has already pitched in six games, in which he has given up a run in four of those games, totalling eight runs.
-Two new starters are showing why I had doubts. Carlos Bamentos and Elton Jessie were supposed to provide bottom half of the lineup power and neither is producing. Bamentos, .555 OPS, Jessie, .552 OPS.
The Minors
-What do you do when your top Triple-A prospect has nowhere to go? Tyrone Abbott is tearing the cover off the ball in the minors. He is hitting .388 after hitting .357 in Double-A last year and .333 in Triple-A. He is "learning" 1B and LF in the minors, but the guy really only looks comfortable behind the plate.
What’s Next
The true test, three games at Virginia. Should be a good test to see how the Stout powers stack up against one another. After that the Bats travel home for an interleague series against the Patriots.Last edited by Pat; 06-15-2010, 08:41 AM.Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-
