Drafted another international guy...
Tony Benitez, 17 year old from Nicaragua. My scout has him 8-8-8 on running skills and 8 on OF range. Maybe he can be a defensive replacement/pinch-runner.Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-
Seattle Pilots- 2017-2041
Washington Bats - 1979-2013

Normally as the draft winds down I draft for players that can either become defensive studs, pinch-running specialists, or players who might have low potential but has high marks in work ethic and intelligence.Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-

I was hoping Windy City's last pick, 1B Nate Butler, would last until midway through the next round. The guy can play anywhere on the field. Probably won't ever hit enough, but great potential as a defensive utility guy.Philly Freedom

Cervantes is listed as a relief pitcher, but I'm going to try him at first base. If he wasn't left-handed, I'd play him at third, but you can't have everything I guess.Maine Guides

I tried that with a couple of guys late in the '88 draft, taking pitchers who showed offensive/defensive ability based on ratings. Those ratings quickly went away once they were assigned to my A ball team.Philly Freedom
