Yeah my scout loved Tex's tools, but his defense scared the crap out of him. We looked long and hard at him though.

What do you mean, if he can find his glove? Are we looking at the same player? He might end up the best defensive player in the league.

I think Tex will be a beast defensively and keep a high OBP, however, his ability to actually connect is a bit questionable.

Think he meant "overall rating" for SS. Looks like with range/ arm, error, ect
Someday somebody has to explain which rating means more for OVERALL defense.

My understanding is that the positional rating is the defensive ratings factored in with the player's experience at that position.

Watts' low ratings at four infield positions tell me that he's probably bounced around from position to position in high school. Once I give him a position to play, he will win Glove Wizards.

No, I see what you’re talking about and if he reaches those levels he’s going to be one hell of a player. He just seems to have a ways to go before he reaches his potential on the defensive side, as do most of the feeder league guys to be honest. What are they teaching these kids? Where's Tom Emanski when you need him?

Unless the player cards only list defensive stats from the prior season, his card only has fielding stats from 1990. Which would seem to indicate he didn't play defense at all during the previous two seasons.

Yeah, you're probably right. Just needs experience.

I don't think we're keeping past defensive stats from any league except the BLB itself.

Oh. Well in that case I guess he just sucks defensively. My bad.

Ezequiel Parongao ate the defensive stats.

Love the last two picks. I don't see them as "safe" - I see them as home runs. No pun intended.

I LOVE this pick. Watts is exactly the type of hitter I want to draft. Great eye, should be an OBP machine.

Very impressive! Also, I think he'll be a top notch fielder as well.

Definitely see his floor as that of Ivan Garcia of Baltimore, OBP machine and a great defender. But he's also got a shot to have great pop as well.

Was my second favorite player behind Coates in the entire draft.
