Heh, I forgot my laptop at home today too. I'm hoping pick #14 takes its time in arriving.

Coates would have been tough to pass up at #1, especially considering the relative dearth of good starting pitching in this draft, but I think we still would have taken "Skipper" Sau there. Our scouts think he's going to be a real player.

Also - what's with all the SPs with only two pitches? Is that normal?

It's a new thing. Definitely take notice.

It's normal but is a bit of a gamble since they may never develop a 3rd pitch and the development of a 3rd pitch seems to be mostly random.

I drafted one of those guys in the 1988 draft and while he's done very well in the minors, he'll likely be a reliever if he gets to the big leagues because he hasn't developed a 3rd pitch.

Sau's a risky pick. He has a high ceiling, but he's only 18, and being from South Africa, we have no stats or history for him.

Maybe it's the type of high risk-high reward that is required to take down Maine?

But I do agree that those international players are risky. Sau's ratings right now are extremely far away from his potential ratings.

He also might actually be 35, for all we know.

Nice Safe pick by Windy City. My scout thinks he can make a decent impact in the league.

I actually debated about this guy all night. 17 did concern me and have another young buck playing outfield and Im not to happy with him either.

I'm sure I ended up with Ryan Leaf with the n#2 or a cute spot starter:(

Pick is in. Really wanted Ryan Leaf to fall to me, but he went #2...sounds familiar.

Very happy with our Clarence "What you talking 'bout" Willis at #5. He's just one of those guys that does everything really well and should bring much needed high .OBP to our team.

Can play all 4 IF positions as well.

He seemed solid on my draft board. Sort of dumb, but this should be right in line with the "Playboy" image:)

And the quest for an all "Tex" infield is on!

I like this pick and had him in my top 3. He’s going to get on base a ton and provide some nice pop from a middle infielder . . . if he can find his glove in his equipment bag.
