  • 1990 BLB Amateur Draft

The draft will start Wednesday, June 16th at noon ET (In-game draft date 6/10/90).

Please look at the utility to make sure all traded picks are correct. NOTE: The draft order the has been in-game and in the utility was NOT correct until today. The correct order is reflected today in the utility. (For example, Morgantown NOT Pawtucket has the #1 Pick)

Sandwich Rounds show as Rounds 2 & 4 in utility.

    Pick Time Limits:
    1st Round, 2nd Round & Sandwich Rounds: 4 hours
    Remaining Rounds: 2 hours

The draft clock runs between 8am and 10pm ET. The utility will autopick for you if you go over your time. Managers who go over their time limit will be placed on Autopick until they return. Please make use of the preference list to avoid going over the time limit.

Let me know if you have any questions on how to use the utility.

    Preference List Usage

    - To add players to your Preference List click the check box next to their name and click the 'Add to List' button. You can then move players up and down the list or remove them using the provided buttons.

    Team War Room

The Team War Room is available only to logged in users who are currently in control of a team as defined in the league file. From here, teams can review the available players, see what picks they’ve made and when their next ones are due, manage their draft list, configure their auto draft settings, and manually draft players if it is their turn to pick.

To add players to the draft list, click the check box next to their name, then click the Add To List button. You can add multiple players at once, and they are added in the order they appear on the page, not the order clicked. Use the up/down/remove buttons next to the draft list to manage the players once they’re on the list. The view button will take you to the HTML page of the highlighted player in the draft list.

There are three options under user preferences that GM’s should address:

Auto Draft From List: Checking this option tells the draft code to go ahead and pick the top player off your draft list should the draft come around to your pick. If you leave this box unchecked the draft will not auto select from your draft list even if it is your turn to pick.

Auto Draft…: Checking this check box tells the draft code to make an auto selection of your pick. If you have this box and the auto draft from list box checked, the draft code will first check your draft list for the first available player, and then auto your pick only if there are no available players left on your draft list. If this box is checked, but the auto draft from list box is not checked, your draft list will be ignored when the draft auto picks for your team.

…After Round: If you have the auto draft option checked, and entered a draft round number in this field, then the draft will wait until that round has completed before auto picking for your team. For example, a team may wish to make manual picks in their first three draft rounds, but auto pick the remaining 7 rounds of a 10 round draft. In that case, you would click the auto draft check box, and enter 3 in the draft round field. The utility will then auto select for you in rounds 4 and higher. If this field is
left blank and the auto draft box is checked, then all rounds will be auto drafted. If this field contains a number, but the auto draft box is not checked, then no auto picks will be made even after the round specified.
The save button will save both the draft list and the user preferences. You MUST click this button to save changes to your draft list.

If it is your team’s turn to pick in the draft, the “Add To List” button will be replaced by a button used to make a draft pick. In this case, check the box next to the player you wish to draft and click the button.

Remember to click 'Save' after you make any changes to your draft preferences or player preference list.

Oops. The START function doesn't work, so the draft started. I rolled back and turned it back off. So, Morgantown, your first pick will need to be made again. I saw it though. ;)

      Pawtucket receives:

      P - Doug Jones
      1991 5th round pick

      Davenport receives:

      CF - Adam Nickell
      1990 5th round pick

This was from trade earlier in the year. I dont see this on the draft board.

Because of the sandwich rounds, the 5th will appear as the 7th in the utility:

        <table cellpadding="3" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr class="title"><td colspan="8">Round 7</td></tr> <tr class="s1"><td>7</td><td>1</td><td>145</td><td class="s1_l">Morgantown Mohawks</td><td colspan="2"> </td><td>Skip Pick</td><td> </td></tr> <tr class="s2"><td>7</td><td>2</td><td>146</td><td class="s2_l">Davenport Brawlers</td><td colspan="2"> </td><td>Skip Pick</td><td> </td></tr> <tr class="s1"><td>7</td><td>3</td><td>147</td><td class="s1_l">Indianapolis Clowns</td><td colspan="2"> </td><td>Skip Pick</td><td> </td></tr> <tr class="s2"><td>7</td><td>4</td><td>148</td><td class="s2_l">Hartford Whalers</td><td colspan="2"> </td><td>Skip Pick</td><td> </td></tr> <tr class="s1"><td>7</td><td>5</td><td>149</td><td class="s1_l">Windy City Playboys</td><td colspan="2"> </td><td>Skip Pick</td><td> </td></tr> <tr class="s2"><td>7</td><td>6</td><td>150</td><td class="s2_l">Pittsburgh Millers</td><td colspan="2"> </td><td>Skip Pick</td><td> </td></tr> <tr class="s1"><td>7</td><td>7</td><td>151</td><td class="s1_l">Los Alamos Bandits</td><td colspan="2"> </td><td>Skip Pick</td><td> </td></tr> <tr class="s2"><td>7</td><td>8</td><td>152</td><td class="s2_l">Hyundai Dinos</td><td colspan="2"> </td><td>Skip Pick</td><td> </td></tr> <tr class="s1"><td>7</td><td>9</td><td>153</td><td class="s1_l">Indianapolis Clowns</td><td colspan="2"> </td><td>Skip Pick</td><td> </td></tr> <tr class="s2"><td>7</td><td>10</td><td>154</td><td class="s2_l">Carolina Tobs</td><td colspan="2"> </td><td>Skip Pick</td><td> </td></tr> <tr class="s1"><td>7</td><td>11</td><td>155</td><td class="s1_l">Baltimore Bulldogs</td><td colspan="2"> </td><td>Skip Pick</td><td> </td></tr> <tr class="s2"><td>7</td><td>12</td><td>156</td><td class="s2_l">Washington Bats</td><td colspan="2"> </td><td>Skip Pick</td><td> </td></tr> <tr class="s1"><td>7</td><td>13</td><td>157</td><td class="s1_l">Windy City Playboys</td><td colspan="2"> </td><td>Skip Pick</td><td> </td></tr> <tr class="s2"><td>7</td><td>14</td><td>158</td><td class="s2_l">Baltimore Bulldogs</td><td colspan="2"> </td><td>Skip Pick</td><td> </td></tr> <tr class="s1"><td>7</td><td>15</td><td>159</td><td class="s1_l">Dallas Snappers</td><td colspan="2"> </td><td>Skip Pick</td><td> </td></tr> <tr class="s2"><td>7</td><td>16</td><td>160</td><td class="s2_l">Los Lunas Javelinas</td><td colspan="2"> </td><td>Skip Pick</td><td> </td></tr> <tr class="s1"><td>7</td><td>17</td><td>161</td><td class="s1_l">Dallas Snappers</td><td colspan="2"> </td><td>Skip Pick</td><td> </td></tr> <tr class="s2"><td>7</td><td>18</td><td>162</td><td class="s2_l">Washington Bats</td><td colspan="2"> </td><td>Skip Pick</td><td> </td></tr> <tr class="s1"><td>7</td><td>19</td><td>163</td><td class="s1_l">California Kodiaks</td><td colspan="2"> </td><td>Skip Pick</td><td> </td></tr> <tr class="s2"><td>7</td><td>20</td><td>164</td><td class="s2_l">Denver Bulls</td><td colspan="2"> </td><td>Skip Pick</td><td> </td></tr> <tr class="s1"><td>7</td><td>21</td><td>165</td><td class="s1_l">Wilmington Wildcats</td><td colspan="2"> </td><td>Skip Pick</td><td> </td></tr> <tr class="s2"><td>7</td><td>22</td><td>166</td><td class="s2_l">Virginia Colonials</td><td colspan="2"> </td><td>Skip Pick</td><td> </td></tr> <tr class="s1"><td>7</td><td>23</td><td>167</td><td class="s1_l">Baltimore Bulldogs</td><td colspan="2"> </td><td>Skip Pick</td><td> </td></tr> <tr class="s2"><td>7</td><td>24</td><td>168</td><td class="s2_l">Maine Guides</td><td colspan="2"> </td><td>Skip Pick</td><td> </td></tr></tbody></table>
As you'll see, Davenport has the #2 pick in the round which was from Pawtucket.

To be fair to everyone, I don't want to start the clock till Wednesday at Noon. But, if people want to PM me their picks, I can temporarily open the Utility for the picks. I just don't want to hold anyone to the clock till the official start.

Oh for sure, I thought it could be like the OSFL was when the clock didn't actually start but people could make picks early.

                No biggie.

That's fine, just not completely sure if I can turn it on without the clock. Already screwed it up once.

Personally, and everyone is different, I take as many SIMs as possible before I pick to watch the Feeder guys. Would hate to spend a big pick and have a guy lost to injury.

CORRECTION: It appears to be on... the timer is just off. So, yes, if anyone wants to pick... go ahead. We'll see what Morgantown wants to down on #1. I'll follow up.

Will the pre-draft day picks show up in the utility once they're made? I don't see this year's stud listed in the utility, and I'm assuming he went #1. But then again, I want to make sure I'm not missing available players in the utility.

The guy who was picked #1 before the rollback IS still in the utility. If you're not seeing someone, PM me.

Remember to sort by player ratings, not stats if you don't see someone.

I spoke with Morgantown and Plastic is going to work the phones a little more before he makes his pick. So, people should just assume Wednesday is the GO LIVE. However, never too early to setup those Draft Boards.

This whole picking at #22 thing is kind of lame, but based on my Scout the last few seasons, I have a feeling someone in my Top 5 will still be there.

My boards are good for now. This is the earliest I ever picked. I'm excited.

However looking at the draft history utility, so many promising players no longer with us. And I had the painful reminder the Geoff Scott got drafted one pick before me when I was set to take him.
