I saw that. How is that even possible? Previously the only CEI's we saw were related to injury setbacks. This one was an initial injury.

                      Baltimore Bulldogs (4-2)

                      2-1 at VIR
                      2-1 vs. DAV

-- Our offense looked good the first week out. Especially, without the services of Takanibu Sato for the entire first week, and Noah George who was injured in a collision during the opening series against Virginia.

-- Despite the injuries, we got a good week from the young substitutes. Rookie infielder, Ivan Marquez, had a few timely hits in the two series, including a surprising home run in the Davenport series. Young outfielder, Joe Saxton, who was almost cut during Spring Training, played admirably in the Sato's absence. Saxton batted .300/.400/.450, for the week including 6 hits, 1 home run, 5 RBI, and 4 walks.

-- I know, I know its only the first week. However, to have Cesaro Campoveroe putting up a .417/.444/.708 line, with 10 hits and 5 RBI is very promising.

-- My pitching staff is young and inexperienced, but held up relatively well against the big bats of Virginia and at home against Davenport. I KNOW they won't keep this up, but hell, in the one of the most talented divisions in the league, I have to take my wins when I can.

                      ON-DECK

-- Next week, we face stay at home in the "friendly confines" of Phillips Field, to face two teams that we, historically, always seem to struggle against, Los Alamos and Wilmington.

I don't recall him having 1 week like that all season last year.

Not a good first week for the Kodiaks bats.

Hopefully they pick it up from here on out.
