  • Minor League Management Opportunities

Starting in the 1981 season, BLB GM's will begin hiring people off the waiting list for minor league manager jobs.

    Your responsibilities will include:
    - Setting Lineups, Depth Charts and Pitching Rotation
    - Set strategy options for your team
    - Communicate with the GM on transactions
    - Provide information and statistics to the GM as requested
    - Follow the correct process for exporting your team

This is a good opportunity for you guys to get involved with the league while you're waiting for a spot to open up. It's also a good chance for newcomers to OOTP and Online leagues to learn the game and the sim process we use.

GM's, feel free to start posting openings. You can offer jobs to whoever you want, but for now let's keep it to one Manager per Organization.

Waiting list guys, feel free to "apply" for any jobs you see listed here.

The Wilmington Wildcats have an opening at the AAA level with the Memphis Wildcats. If you want it, PM me. There's some good talent there. I'm not going into details. If you're too lazy to check the team page, we don't want you.

              Hartford Whalers

The Hartford Whalers have opened a position on their AAA squad in New Haven. This has been a trouble spot for the organization as much of their talent is still located in the A and AA range. However with so much talent, I expect many people to get the call to AAA this offseason, and someone can have a great opportunity to get them into the mix and prepare them for the BLB.

The Whalers will also consider offers for the AA or A team if you feel you would be more interested in developing the younger guys who are almost overflowed at those levels.

Please look over the organization and let me know what level you are interested and why you are for that level as opposed to any other.

Please PM me or IM me at HrfdWhale.

The Snappers have an opening to manage their AAA affiliate in Chicago. They have won the AAA championship once, have been to the championship game twice and just missed making the playoffs last year, after having the 2nd best record in AAA but had the team with the best record in their division.

According to Baseball America on 10-22-1980, the Snappers have the best minor league system in the entire BLB. So, the Dallas GM has high expectations for the AAA manager. If you think you're up to the challenge, please PM.

The Los Lunas Javelinas have an opening for their AAA affiliate. Currently ranked 7th by Baseball America, the Javelina farm system is ripe for some micro-management. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and plays nice with others!

Just as an FYI, it's going to take a little while before I can add the minor league managers. There really isn't much they can do until pre-season anyways. I just have too many things on my plate to do it now.

No problem Andrew. I'm just trying to get acquainted with the team and get some of the simple stuff down while learning the game. So I'm in no hurry.

Yes, they export for just the one minor league team they're managing.

Andrew, can you go over the exact process? Do they export, then we import? or do they export, and we export, and it will take care of it self?

The way the game itself handles it is they export, we export, Andrew imports and the game handles everything. Being a minor league manager sometimes is like playing darts blindfolded and being spun around half a dozen times before you throw. You never know if the player you wanted to bat 3rd in the lineup is still going to be on your roster.
