So no Sat. | Sun. Spring Training sims with the regular season starting on Monday? I just kind of assumed that's where we were headed.

Oh well, guess I'll tweak my lineups and rotations about 1,000 times this weekend.

I'm hoping the bubble wrap arrives in time to place my entire team in it before ST starts.

Is there some sort of inverse relationship between scouting budget and prospect potential? Sheesh.

Seems like doubling my scouting budget, cut my prospects potential in half. Talk about rose-tinted glasses.

          Off-Field Accident Sidelines Lpez
Saturday, February 24th, 1990: Hector Lopez was injured in an off-the-field accident today. The Wilmington third baseman suffered shoulder soreness when his car spun out of control. Team doctors expect him to be out 4 weeks.

Do we need to have an intervention?

BTW, I think you can also adjust ticket prices right now.

I think the higher budget just gives you a clearer picture.

I saw the same thing last year when I was able to up my scouting budget. Ignorance is bliss!

I know. That picture isn't as "rosy" as I first thought.

Although, I do have another question. Curt Boyd is on the "possible free agents" link, but on his player card, it says he's eligible for arbitration. Which is it?

I had to take a massive drop in scouting budget because of the contracts I signed this offseason... half of my team dropped 2 points in potential.

My scout is an 80 for majors and 75 for minors. I trust the numbers he gave me when I was spending 12 million a year on scouting... not the numbers he's giving me now at 1.25.

I think the more money you spend, the more accurate your scout is. I'm not saying spending 10 million dollars with a 50 scout will make him see things as an 80 scout does... but I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't make him 10-20% more accurate than if he was on a regular budget.

I think it'll depend on the service time he accrues this year. If he earns enough service time, he'll be eligible for FA.

The Good: For the first time since I've been GM, Baltimore is below league average in payroll and salary.

The Bad: For the first time since I've been GM, I truly expect to have a losing season.

Sounds like I need to go ahead and sign him up while the discount is good.
