Happy with my 2 FA signings...Huxham & Caballero. Short contracts for 2 older guys for not a lot of money. For the first time in a few seasons I had FA money and it was burning a hole in my pocket.

I hope Huxham can repeat what he did in Dallas his first go-round. Caballero I'm leaning towards DH but not sure. I was hoping to pick-up Viret and then Caballero definitely would be DHing...guess we'll see.

I have 1 more guy I'd like to get...we'll see if I can get him at my budget.

I was interested in Huxham but he wouldn't bite on only one-guaranteed year.

I think you got The Horse at a good price. He is older now, yes, but even a slight drop from a .280 season with 20 home runs is good enough at $2.5 MM a year. Very good, actually. And he's a decent enough fielder to handle himself in the outfield.

I wish Huxham had a little more power for a corner infielder, but still at the price, it's a good deal. He's hit for decent average the past two years and draws a walk.

Seems to be one of those guys that is better utilizing his skills as he ages.

I have Cervantes for 3rd but he really hasn't shown he can hit yet at the BLB level. So, he's starting in AAA again this year (unless he has an amazing Spring). So, hopefully another 1/2 season will give him a chance to get the whole hitting thing figured out. In the meantime, Huxham will man the hot corner.

If Cervantes is ready around the AS break I can move Huxham to DH. Not exactly the power you'd want from a DH but I'll take it.

Caballero will either start at DH or in the OF. It all depends on how Ikebe does. He started strong last year but slowly tapered off.

I like the flexibility both guys give me, since either can play a few positions or DH.

It seems like the Porter is having a FA bonanza. So far I've lost out on the SP and MR to Cali, and now another player likes another team better.

All I want is a SP and someone who can play 2nd or 3rd. We're not desperate since we don't have a contender, but it would be nice to sign a guy or two and maybe...just maybe...have a winning season.

Can someone please try going to the OOTP website & see if it loads for you? I'm trying to reinstall the game on my freshly re-formatted computer but I haven't been able to get the site to load all day.

Jeez...The guy makes his first playoff appearance and thinks he can start makin' jokes.

But I'm not discrediting what Shaver accomplished this season. It's not easy winning the best division in Brewers League Baseball. Trust me.

Turns out completely unrelated to my problems with getting the game to install on my new system was zone alarm...it wouldn't let me start the program...weird. See ya Zone Alarm Free Firewall...back to Windows Firewall.

If no one else cares then I'm fine with it. The AI is just plain stupid though and bonus money really screws up its contract negotiation brain. It's ludicrous what I've done to it in SP...I'll see if I can sign a few in the BLB to show you.

It wasn't something malicious on my part. I think 21.9 million a year was plenty enough to get him to sign, anyways.
