And now we go to Tom with a live look at local sports...

Mark...it's like nothing we've seen before in Batavia. After another sub .500 season you would think spirits would be dampened...but with the recent retirement of Alsina things have changed. We now bring you live footage from the Muckdogs stadium. Apparently with the new found money not only are they celebrating...but they hired a complete multi-cultural orchestra to do so.

This is amazing Mark. Now it looks like De Jesus, Sasaki, and Ednams, and May are out on the field dancing as well. I really don't know what to tell you. We haven't seen this much excitement around these parts since the British invaded.

I can't believe what I'm seeing now. It looks like the GM is throwing money out from his box. Yes Mark...yes I can still hear you. Yes...throwing money. It's raining money out here, the GM is making it rain money. I've never seen anything like it. For the thousands of fans and millions watching around the globe this might start a phenomenon. Gotta run Mark...this is Tom Smith from Channel 5 Sports signing off...

Another great BLB season done- fitting end to the Commish's run

Will Clay have as much success as commishioner? Stay tuned!

Anyway, arbitration is always a lot of fun. I love seeing the raises some of these players get- Curt Dodson is unfortunately a Super 2 player so we're going to arbitration with him unless we agree on a long term contract.

                        Some great relievers retired yesterday.

                        Casmirio Cabezas
                        Jon Cleary

So, who makes the HOF? Both, one, none?

Cleary for sure... but probably both Founder's Wing guys.

Hmm I thought Cabezas was the sure lock of the two.

It will be interesting to see how we as the BLB view Closers. Will they go in because they were the best at their job during their era or will we as a group hold the Closer role in lower regard the way MLB has done for so long?

                              Cabezas

                              -9 time All-Star
                              -2 time Last Call Winner
                              -All time leader in Saves
-Converted >9/10 save opportunities for his career (.912 SV%)

                              Good stuff there.

Clay mentioned Founder’s Wing consideration for these guys (Cabezas and Cleary), but in my mind they both can be judged on their actual stats. They both had good 12 year runs, which is a healthy sample size. I understand what Clay’s saying, they both got their starts in the league at around age 26 so you could conceivably say they missed a couple/few years on the front side of their careers, but a solid 12 year run is a good career.
