Memphis, TN (AP) - Blues and Barbecue President John Griffin welcomed T.J. Cutini's welcome for expansion competition. Griffin noted, "I welcome the warm reception by Play Ball '82's chairman. It's cute that a little farm town in the piedmont of the Carolinas wants to get involved with the big boys. My only question is where is the population to support this team"?
When asked why he wasn't attending the Brewmaster's Championship in Chicago Griffin said, "We are entertaining Clay Shaver and Chris Sullivan at Platinum Plus this week. If there is anything these owners love, its a world famous strip club's VIP rule. Blues, beer, barbecue, and titties in the face make for a great time."
The Virginia and Wilmington owners were not available for comment.
