-- Our pitching was lights out this past week. We had 4 of 6 starters go 7 or more innings while giving up 3 or fewer earned runs. Joe Soto and Brian Hanrahan went 7.3 and 8.0 innings each, respectively, with 0 earned runs.
-- Mark Mabbett is looking like the Mabbett of old posting a .500/.588/.786 week in limited action. I'm not sure he'll keep this up, but it feels good to have four outfielders all hitting over .300 for the year.
-- Juan Jose Garcia must have known that I planned to demote him if he performed poorly this sim. He put up a, 2 H, 0 ER, in 7 inning performance against Hartford. He's still having a problem with control but when he gets that straightened out, I think he's going to be a very solid pitcher.
THE BAD
-- Despite all the praise I am giving our pitching staff, we lost 4 games last week. Normally if you post a 2.84 ERA in Baltimore, you sweep both series. However, our bats did not show up against Maine's pitching and it cost us a few games.
-- Tommy Lang had a rough return giving up four runs in his first two innings, but settled down to throw five more scoreless innings. Although it was not a great performance, I'll take it from a pitcher who just returned from the DL against a team like Maine.
ON-DECK
-- Next up, we face a few of the best pitchers in the IL when Windy City comes to Baltimore, and we head to Davenport.
20-2 in the division. 28-14 vs the rest of the league.
so that whole "i'm not sure if OOTP is giving me a bump cause i'm the commish so i'm going to make W commish and make sure that's not an issue" isn't an issue, huh?
Anyone have a draft pick come out and dominate their first week?
This may not qualify, but it's certainly head and shoulders above any other debuts we've experienced in recent years.
SP/RP Shao-qi Long went 8.1 innings on 87 pitches, gave up 0 ER, 2 H and struck out 5 in his pro debut. Of course, he now expects to be playing in the majors.

Busy couple days and swamped at work tieing up loose ends so I'm not giving my write-ups the attention they deserve. Bottomline is my pitching is really hooking me up and some timely hitting (mostly for power) is bringing it hope.
Highlights:
-- 4 out of 6 games our staff gave up 4 hits or less.
-- Jerry Collins turns in two 7.0 innings gems - one with 1 hit and one 2.
-- In the 17 games since Jayson McQueen returned to the bullpen, he has a 0.47 ERA and has been great. He's looking like our legit Closer of the future.
-- 6 regulars hit over .300 this SIM.
-- Dale O'Hegarty is finally finding his EYE this season sporting a .500 OBP so far in June.
-- Mel Woodbury now leads the IL in VORP despite not even qualifying due to his early injury.
