  • Ticker Question for the testers

Just a question...my OOTP machine isn't an enormous beast anymore, but it is a very good machine.

I recently decided to see if that was having an impact on my system since OOTP 2006 routinely grabbed 90%+ of the processor. I initially thought it was because I was jumping around asking for data and the like all the time as well as when I ran sims and that the excessive updating was what was doing it.

Well...I figured that was wrong when I noticed that I was idle in OOTP while working and still pegging the CPU.

CPU hit dropped to next to nothing unless I do a SIM.

Did Markus and co rework the ticker in 2007?

FYI for anyone who hasn't already...might as well turn off the ticker...not worth the performance hit.

Hmmm I don't remember seeing the ticker in 2k7. Of course I turned it off as soon as I could with 2k6 as it make a huge difference in performance on my machine and I never paid any attention to it anyhow.

This al being said the performance of 2k7 vs 2k6 is like the difference between a broken down old beater car and a new Ferarri.

Yep, the ticker is gone. It was replaced by all the shortcuts on the bottom of the window.

There you have it! I had totally forgotten about that ticker until I read the post then suddenly though rut roh something I had not even considered testing.

Yes I opened both 2k6 and 2k7 to see if I could find it in both
