Decent sim for the Tobs, going 3-3 against California and Philadelphia on our road trip to open the year. My starting pitching was very good, the bullpen continues to worry me.
Hector Castre picked up where he left off from last season, giving up only 5 hits in his two starts. Unfortunately he lost a pitching duel against Wilkerson on Opening Day.
Jimmy Joy had a great week, going .522/.607/.739. I think he could factor into the All-Star discussion at SS.
Don Alexander also had a good week.Washington Bats, 2013-

Well since Clay isn't off work yet, I'll be nice and put a spoiler up. BTW, if anyone has any more questions on the sim, I'll be in chat to answer them.
SpoilerWe wen't 4-2, 2-1 vs. Morgantown and 2-1 vs. Virginia.
Obviously Caballero is playing for a contract. This dude is knocking the cover off of the ball, AGAIN. I'm afraid to both sign him and he be horrible the next couple of years or not sign him and miss out on his offensive explosion in Baltimore.
Rookie outfielder, Loren Wallace played well in his first week of action. .375/.423/.524 with 6 RBI and a stolen base. His performance will be key this year.
We resigned Tommy Lang for 2 more years at 10 million less than he's made the last 4 or 5 years. He's happy and pitched well against a tough Virginia squad. He didn't get the win (only because our pen blew a 4 run lead) and he was aggressive with 9 K in 7.1 innings. He did give up two home runs but with a 6-2 lead going into the 8th, we shouldn't have had to win it in 13 innings.
Our pen looks inconsistent in this small sample size, except Mike Fritsch looks like he's taking very well to the closer position. I promise, if he plays well as a closer the next couple of years, I will probably retire his number in Baltimore.
Looking forward to seeing if we can do anything against Washington or Wilmington next week.Last edited by Delandis; 03-15-2010, 03:05 PM.
