I should've rented out your scout for the draft since he wasn't busy.

          • Damn.

Didn't make it home in time. CPU auto picked a random player for me even when I had players in my queue?

Oh well, at least I got one of the many Pancho's of this draft.

            • Just curious, but what did everyone think about Pat Richardson.

Now, I know his name is off putting, but I just need some other scout's opinions.

Scout thinks he only fits as a RP because of his two pitches.

                  Thanks Linty.

My scout feels the same, but he'll start in A ball and we'll see how it goes. I just didn't see another quality player at that spot. Like others have said, weak draft.

                    • I'm fairly happy with our draft. I went in looking for some quality pitching and I think I did well. The only reason I'm not on auto from here is that I don't want a concentration of one position taken by the AI but I don't have much of a clue what's left talent wise.

I also got a new Scouting Director this sim. Wow, his ideas are wildly different than the last guy's but I still think my picks worked out. Although my other guy had Dimmick as the runaway #1 while this guy has him #5 overall and the #2 pitcher behind Ortega. Time will tell...

BTW he has Thom Gates as the #1 overall.

I think our scouts may be some sort of twisted relation. Either way, its nice to see that someone else likes Gates.

                            • I've got 10 guys in my queue right now that either have nice ratings from my scout, high on his draft list, or more than decent stats in the feeders. There's certainly no more guys that jump off the page, but we're nearly half way through the draft and there shouldn't be.

I think we all got spoiled last year; I remember numerous posts about guys that were drafted in the 5th and 6th rounds that people loved, and a discussion about how the feeder leagues might have created too deep of a draft class.

Personally, I hope there are more drafts that lean towards this one. With only 10 rounds, we shouldn't be drafting obvious "studs" past the third round.
