Scout loves him. I don't disagree. I think he has a ton of potential. He's 18, so I have time to work with him. With was more speed than a normal Catcher, I think I'm going to be able to turn him into a decent LF (I don't need more C's).

Tough call for me, but I'm not ruling out one of the other two still being there next round.
Right on again with my scout. #1 hitter in the draft.

Wow, not the guy I was looking at. Not even close. Interesting.

            Agreed.

Just like Carlos, Bolam was not even close to being on my radar.

If you sort players by stats (they don't have stats), then the international guys don't appear in the utility. Make sure you sort by ratings.

                • All international players have to be found by switching the viewing categor from "STATS" to "POTENTIAL" or "RATINGS" or whatever it is.

Also, any player with a non standard english lettered first name, is in reverse order. Example, Ángelo Martínez will be found as the last name if you list it by alphabet, after the Z's.

Really like the Angelo Gonzales pick. He will easily convert to a starter.

                        Davenport selects SS Gus Brown.

                        • Took 2B Robby Bowen from Arizona with my second 1st round pick. He's not near the bat as Thang Mack, but he's a very mature hitter coming out of college. He's got a great eye at the plate and has posted great OBP both years in college. He's also a plus defender and in a system barren of talen in the middle infield, he fits real well. My scout doesn't project him to hit for much power but he thinks he can hit for a high average with good plate patience in the future.

Sometimes I think it depends on level as well. I mean, scouts do have varying ratings: majors, minors, amateurs.

I seem to share similar thoughts with Linty and Brad when it comes to evaluating minor league players.

I know Brad mentioned it when I made my list of players I wanted in exchange for Seagarra. We saw similar potentials (I assume from his comments to me and the differing opinions by others in that trade thread). Just recently, Linty and I had a discussion about a potential trade and it was almost like two heads locked in stubbornness. I wouldn't budge and neither would he (it wasn't an intense exchange, but we could tell that our evaluations were the same and that made it difficult to make a switch).

Meanwhile, I've made plenty of trades with you, Pat, and I'm not sure if we agree on major league talent, but we both likely feel that we come out of a trade feeling we got what we wanted. So, what does that say?

                            • Well that all happend so quick.

Indy took the hitter I wanted. At least I got the second pitcher I wanted. Not too bad.
