  • Looking over stuff now.

I didn't really have Ortega on my radar, but my scout listed him at #14 and 4-6-4. With the scouting variance, who knows. Probably a great pick.

I have three prospects remaining that are head and shoulders above everyone else...hopefully you aren't seeing what I'm seeing.

I'm guessing we're not based on the fact that we are far apart on the Pitchers. But, I have 3 hitters left that I like so much I might consider trading back into the 1st after #14.

        • Glen Conley was the #1 player available on my board. 5-8-8-6-4. Reminds of the MAP-skill set. #2 overall player in the entire draft. Nice pick Wolfy.

          • Took HS OF Glen Conley.

I tried and tried to talk myself out of it. There is a pitcher out there that was very high on my board and a different OF that I found pretty interesting. My scout has Conley at 7-8-8-7-5.

However, 22222 current potential, and fairly low intelligence/work ethic (3/5), and high greed. I don't think greed is factored into player development, but I still don't like greedy people. My worry is that this is a total bust of a pick who will never develop... but I just couldn't pass those ratings up, plus he seems to be progressing nicely down in HS.

I've already told you Brad, we have the same scout.

My scout had Thang Mac as the #19 player in the draft. Nice pick Spectre.

                Shaver, don't pick my guy.

We should cut costs and just utilize 1 of them then.

                    • Well, I drafted another catcher. Certainly not a position of need but that's one luxury of having the DH. I already have two very good catchers in my system in Calderon and Guinane, but I just couldn't turn down what is the top rated hitter on my board by a country mile. He's incredibly raw (Burmese baseball?) but my scout is very high on him and predicts he has a superstar ceiling. I liked Castaneda too as well and was having a hard time deciding between the two but the decision was made for me. Plus, the guys name is Thang Mac... you can't make up a better name than that.

If Sully hadn't taken Ortega though, he would have been my pick here ;) Now I have my original pick coming up soon and then I'm off till Round 3.

                        • My Top 3 hitters that I think are slam dunks are all still there.

If anyone in the next couple picks wants to jump up, I'll listen to offers.

Hey... if I can get more picks... the way you losers are picking, I can clean up.

Plus, my Top 3 are all there.... one HS, one COL and one INTL... that doesn't help me. I need someone to help me help myself.

I don't care, just don't pick the guy I want. Then make sure no one else picks him until I go.
