I don't have the game in front of me. What do people have Kraft rated as? Both his stuff/movement/control and his individual pitches?

I don't think I 'played' anyone. I just wanted to make sure the playing field was level.

And, even if you were played like a fiddle, if the result is getting a legit #1 (even if he isn't a Pale Ale winner), it's a win-win.

I think you're going to be very happy with your pitching staff.

Should be a great #1 or #2 for you though!
sort of the reason i'm glad i got Parongao too. can put kraft in the #2 for a couple years and maybe take some pressure off of the transition (not sure if the game even takes that into account though)

And for comparisons sake, how does your scout rate Gil O'Moore?

Well, even if it doesn't... a great pitcher will find better success as he moves further down the rotation and faces other teams less talented pitchers.

My thing is... I don't think there is any question he can start.... He started his last four games in LL last season:

                      <TABLE class=lposhadow style="MARGIN-BOTTOM: 12px" cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=450><TBODY><TR class=headline><TD class=hsdl>Date</TD><TD class=hscc>Vs.</TD><TD class=hscc>Result</TD><TD class=hsnc>Start</TD><TD class=hsnr>IP</TD><TD class=hsnr>H</TD><TD class=hsnr>R</TD><TD class=hsnr>ER</TD><TD class=hsnr>BB</TD><TD class=hsnr>K</TD><TD class=hsnc>Dec</TD></TR><TR><TD class=sl>09-30-1988</TD><TD class=sc>@ HYU</TD><TD class=sc>Loss, 2-8</TD><TD class=sc>X</TD><TD class=sr>6.0</TD><TD class=sr>4</TD><TD class=sr>0</TD><TD class=sr>0</TD><TD class=sr>1</TD><TD class=sr>6</TD><TD class=sc></TD></TR><TR><TD class=slg>09-25-1988</TD><TD class=scg>SIN</TD><TD class=scg>Win, 9-2</TD><TD class=scg>X</TD><TD class=srg>7.0</TD><TD class=srg>4</TD><TD class=srg>2</TD><TD class=srg>1</TD><TD class=srg>2</TD><TD class=srg>3</TD><TD class=scg>Win</TD></TR><TR><TD class=sl>09-20-1988</TD><TD class=sc>DAL</TD><TD class=sc>Win, 3-2</TD><TD class=sc>X</TD><TD class=sr>5.0</TD><TD class=sr>5</TD><TD class=sr>1</TD><TD class=sr>1</TD><TD class=sr>1</TD><TD class=sr>4</TD><TD class=sc>Win</TD></TR><TR><TD class=slg>09-14-1988</TD><TD class=scg>@ PIT</TD><TD class=scg>Win, 3-2</TD><TD class=scg>X</TD><TD class=srg>5.1</TD><TD class=srg>3</TD><TD class=srg>1</TD><TD class=srg>0</TD><TD class=srg>0</TD><TD class=srg>4</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

I take 5.0 - 7.0 innings and less than 5 hits any day. Just means you need to make sure that 'Pen is solid.

I think O'Moore is the perfect comparison for most relievers that are being considered as starters. He is a high stuff guy with only 2 "plus" pitches and has relatively low endurance for a starter. I actually think Kraft's high GB% makes up a good chunk of the endurance difference between the two.

I will be very surprised if Kraft doesn't post a sub 3.00 ERA and 185+ IP next season. He may not be your typical workhorse type #1 but he is definitely an ace.

On Kraft I will just say, I'm glad he went to the DL and not an IL contender.

i'm curious what the other offers for kraft were. i didn't see any (and unless i'm wrong, the game didn't show me because mine was the best offer). i wonder if i offered far and away more than anyone else. like much of the pre FA talk, i expected to have to up my offer from the initial.
I don't need any starters (read: need starters. Not saying I wouldn't want an ace like Kraft) but I offered anyway with the idea that I'll be doing one of two things:

                                1. Driving up his price. I offered him $45 MM over 3 Years (this didn't happen as I already knew you had likely offered much more and I wasn't interested in going really crazy and ending up hurting myself)
                                2. Signing him and figuring it's a good problem to have.
