Even though all the teams are technically filled there doesn't seem to be any interest in the WBC this year. The WBC takes quite a bit of work on my part and Clay's to set up and run and we are wondering if it's worth continuing it. Please let us know your thoughts.

    I'm fine with whatever.

I already sent you my mock up of our roster... but if its a hassle... I say toss it.

Ryan and I were going to have a roster for you tomorrow before the deadline.

But, I've always said that I hate to see you do more work than you need to. The WBC is a nice break from the BLB, but I don't need the WBC.

I wasn't around when you guys initially kicked this thing off, so I don't have any investment in it. I can see why some people might get into it, but it doesn't hold any interest to me.

I like the WBC, but, to be honest, with the new fast off-season, I'm not sure there is nearly as much time filler needed.

I'm not that into it really. It's fun...but no way is it worth the workload. It was only to help the drag of the off-season anyways, and that seems improved.

I like the idea of a All-Division All-Star game, however.

I'm with Pat. This would have been the first WBC that I have participated in and one thing I like is the involvement that you get knowing the players of the team you coach for. It may be better served if we did the All-Star Division bragging rights things. Hell we could even use this tournament to decide where the following All-Star game is held.

Yea, I seem to recall that the first WBC was during a very slow offseason, right?

We don't have that problem right now. I'm sure some time in the near future we'll have another one of those long BLB breaks and we'll want to do something. Then would be a good time for one of these tournaments (I also vote for a division bragging rights tournament when that time comes).

I've never done it and it never had much interest for me. I think we did start it to fill time during the offseason but agree with Clay...with the fast offseason I think the only thing it can do is slow down the offseason & make work for Clay & Andrew.

I did it a couple of years with a horrible Puerto Rico squad, but it never sucked me in. Like others have said, it served more of a role during slow offseasons.

Maybe adding a Future's Game type thing during the All-Star break would be interesting. It would be nice to see the top prospects dueling it out- US vs. World. It's probably my favorite part of the real life All-Star break.

Sounds like the consensus is nobody will be devastated to see it go. I think in that case we'll scrap the WBC. There was some discussion on the general forums about a "clone player" feature. If that was added it would make running these types of things much easier so maybe we'll revisit when OOTP is at a point where it can support what we're trying to do.

I would like to put in a request now to clone Doug Miles as soon as the technology becomes available. Should I put this in the Commish-To-Do forum?

We should clone the Bats GM and put him in charge of that team in Syracuse. He'd be able to get that team to the playoffs.
