  • SIM COMPLETE - 1988 - Offseason 1

    Next sim: Friday

I moved over to the off-season so you should be able to accept/decline options. Check your messages to do so. Arbitration is also active.

The financial changes haven't been made yet. I had a minor bug in the utility I am working on that caused a lot of incorrect data to be entered. I basically need to go through and change the numbers so your current stadium funds are deposited in the cash reserve. Once this is done I will be able to make the luxury tax adjustments in game and you should have accurate numbers in game and in the new utility. These should be done by Fridays sim.

      A few retirements of note:

Pedro Eires (336 Career HR) hangs it up at 38.

A couple former Colonials Eric Cafferty (36) and Yeung Suk-Kang (38) call it a career as well. Cafferty... the guy hasn't had it (if he ever did) in quite some time... but a little shocked he retired at 36.

The other interesting news of note from this sim (to me) was Caballero executing his final year with B'More. Obviously, the game is the game, but a guy in the same situation in the real world probably walks away to try to get paid off that contract year. Then again, he should feast again at home.

I was surprised he'd hang them up after a great season in '88. Maybe it was the injury that did him in.

Yep, he wants to post one more GREAT season in the shoebox so he can hit the open market and cash in one more time.

So, is that it for the group that retires this year? Or will there be more when the game rolls around to January?

Will those be the FA guys that didn't play this year and get auto retired... or will more guys from teams also retire?

                              Andrew -

I don't think this next SIM included ARBITRATION, but it's already available. If we submit them in this SIM, will we still need to submit them again in next SIM?
