That is true. Murdoch's WS for defense is worth about 3 games more than Elliot's... but on offense I don't really think there's a question as to who's the better hitter.

If you honestly believe this, how did not pimp him for IL Stout Slugger? I mean, if you truly believe this was a "season for the ages".... how did 23 other owners miss it?

Stout Slugger is a hitters award, not a defender award.

Check the numbers. I couldn't find an IL catcher with a better season, defensively and offensively.

I disagree.... I see Stout Slugger as the top position player of the year.

From the 2006 thread where award names were discussed:

            rookie
            fielding

Before my time... but I've always viewed and voted on Stout Slugger as the best Non-Pitcher on the season. I use hitting 1st, but I use things like baserunning and defense to break ties.

I do too. Defense and baserunning are more than tie-breakers, but only used when the players batting stats are so close. But it's not MVP...which I would have argued for some Murdock votes if that were the case.

                  I see it as MV(N)P - Most Valuable Non-Pitcher.

Then you really should have sent a vote Murdock's way.
