SpoilerMan, we were up 2-1 in the series after ripping Carlton and then proceeded to lose 3 straight... like my Jets, who knows if we'll be in this position again. Disappointing but Washington's offense was just too much for the Storm. One good thing about the playoffs is that the two cornerstones to my franchise Don Leonard (4-0, 0.85 WHIP) and Curt Dodson (.992 OPS) had exceptional playoffs.
Congrats!

"Twice as sweet!"
Uhh...wow? I watched the games on replay and after the shlacking that Martin Carlton took in game three, I got pretty nervous. Wow. Great series Spectre. You got a team that doesn't quit. Even that last at-bat Doug West fouled off six or seven pitches.
Hell of a series and playoffs for Russ McEvoy. After pitching a shutout in the game 7 against the Playboys, McEvoy pitches an eight inning shutout in game one and is the winner in the series changing game 5 win.
My first title took just nine games (4-1, 4-0) while this year all but one series (this time three) went seven, and that one went six. I feel proud to keep the Brewmasters in the IL. That's three in a row boys. I also feel good about winning my second title, this time with a completely different team.

If no players retire, biggest threat probably being 37-year-old closer Grant Lewis, the Bats should be contenders again in 1989. The core remains the same with only mercenaries Jerry Fortin and Troy Sisk leaving in free-agency. Every arbitration eligible player is expected to return as well. As long as River Matthews fully recovers from surgery in the off-season, I expect the Stout to belong to D.C.
A big "FU" to all the haters but a thanks to everyone with kind words. Easily one of the more fun seasons for me in the BLB. Cheers to all involved and to many, many more glorious years for the team in the Nation's Capital!Last edited by Pat; 02-09-2010, 10:57 AM.Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-

Congrats to both Spectre and Pat. I don't know how you do it Pat, but your team is always loaded and in contention. I think it's just dumb luck that you haven't won more of these.
Here's to your 1983 championship banner showing up someday.Charlotte Knights - OSFL
