  • How is everyone's minor league teams doing?

I might even pay more attention to my minor league teams than my BLB club. And, for those of us that are out of it (myself included), the minor league seasons become even more important. Currently I am doing really well:

AAA- El Paso = 70-39, 14 games ahead
    AA - Huntsville = 79-29, 6 games ahead
    A - Albany = 52-56, 11 games back

My AAA team is a lock, but Wilmington's AA squad is playing really well right now. As for A, I was near the lead prior to the draft, then after the draft, my team has fell apart.

I am really excited to be in the post-season, at any level, for the very first time. Only thing that sucks, is a lot of my AAA guys will be in the playoffs in the middle of September, when rosters expand.

79 and 29 and you just have a 6 game lead? That record is good enough to make Jistic envious. Maybe you have a few guys down in AA who deserve to be promoted?

Probably. But my AAA team is packed as it is. Plus, I'm trying to win the AAA and AA title.

It looks like I may be your first round opponent in the AA playoffs. I wonder if I should demote my entire AAA team to make that matchup competitive.

          Clever.

I would do that too, but I gotta win AAA as well.

Would you all hate me if I said that I haven't followed my minor league standings this season...

I never do. I could care less whether they win or lose as long as my top prospects are getting better. Some of us have big league teams to worry about this time of year. :D

Yup, that's all I care about.

Now, if those teams were actually generating income for me, that might be different.

Hate, no. Not in any way. Do think it would be better, the league as a whole if you were paying attention.

                  Jerk.

I like to think that if my team wins in the minors, they will bring that atmosphere to the big league club. Or at least I hope.

My AAA team is leading its division, despite all the trades I've made sending pitchers off that team.

You would start getting into an overly complicated game if that was the case.

                          AAA - 54-55 4th place, 16 gb
                          AA - 58-50 4th place, 12 gb
                          A - 53-55, 5th place, 13 gb

My AA was doing well earlier in the season, then injuries and trades really bit into them. As long as they play around .500, and my rookies are getting better, i really can't complain.

I've been watching mine the last few weeks. My major league talent is just not there. About a third of my guys on the Active Roster should probably actually be in AA right now still developing. I'm working on getting this franchise back on the right track and building with youth. I want to be able to think about contending by the mid-80's. I should be in Detroit by then and in a normal sized ballpark.

We can not get Virginia in the rearview mirror soon enough.

Virginia finished three games under .500 in 1978, two games under .500 in 1979, and in 1980 you are 44-67. Its not like its been all bad in Virginia.
