    Tempting.

I'd rather wait for OOTP 12 though.

Might be the first I don't purchase since OOTP4 unless either league I'm in decides to switch.

I'll purchase it either way just to support the developers but I'd have to see more before I would recommend moving the BLB to 11. The feature list is a little underwhelming to me.

I'm down either way...just don't want to be the first league to give 11 a shot.

My thoughts exactly. I know they aren't currently releasing the entire upgrade/enhancement list, but you would think they are trying to get the highlights out there with this posting. If so, it's not really jazzing me.

I really think Markus is at that point where he needs a two-year development cycle.

The most the game can do now is refine current features and add new ones. The gameplay is already stellar.

                I slightly disagree.

                Things that need work on:

                - Managers actually following your bullpen notes. If I want my best bullpen guy pitching the least... the game should have to follow. Basically, you put them in whatever random order you want and the game will always go with the highest rated pitcher.

                - Pitchers bunting. I'm all for pitchers laying down sacrifice bunts... In fact, I use them all the time. My problem is with the AI. Lets say I have a man on third and a man on first with less than two down. The AI is going to sacrifice bunt my pitcher and strand the man at 3rd... at least until the next batter. I just want some situational AI going on. If there's a man on third and less than two outs... more times than not, I want my pitcher taking his chances and swinging the bat.

                - Situational defensive lapses. I can't count the number of times I've seen a ball hit to my third basemen with a man on third and less than two outs... and then to see that runner score on the play! Its so frustrating. In real life... if the ball is not to the right side of the infield, you are taught in nearly all situations to stay put (outside of weak dribblers or deep in the hole ground balls). Yet, in OOTP, a ground ball to anywhere but the pitcher seems to be an automatic RBI.

                - I would love some sort of pinch hitting hierarchy. I hate watching my pitchers get pinch hit for by some scrub that the AI deems as my best bat available off the bench. Give me the freedom to micro manage my team if I want... and let me set pinch hitting rotation. Have two choices... top hitter vs. RHP, top hitter vs. LHP. It would add more strategy to the game as well as possibly provide a bench spot to a player that has proven he can pinch hit.

Those things really frustrate me about this great game. Fix those and I'd be close to believing it really is the perfect game.

                  Sounds familiar:

I agree and to me nothing on that list is compelling... I might be interested in upgrading but to me this feature list is...
That's how I feel. There's some stuff on there that would be nice, but nothing that makes me think that we absolutely need to upgrade.
I agree, doesn't seem like any MUSTS.
I'm really surprised there isn't more in this update, it seems more like OOTP 9.5 than OOTP 10.
                  Which turned into quotes like...

The injury system (if it works properly) is really outstanding in OOTP X.
Everything about OOTP X that I'm hearing sounds really exciting...
I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'. Everyone said the same things about 10 that they're saying now about 11. For the record, I'm completely against upgrading (unless there's a graphical replay system, or Andrew gets a beta version that blows him away) but I'm more against not upgrading for awhile and then upgrading after the last patch considering Markus' ability to release a version every 8 months.

So yeah, I'm with everyone else. I say we stay with 10.

Every time we upgrade, it seems like prospects, and even BLB starters ratings go all over the place, and usually in the downward direction. It would be nice to have 3 or 4 seasons in a row of the same version, if for nothing else than to have a chance to develop players in your system as your scout believes they are at that time.

And before anyone brings up the point, I understand players fluctuate as a part of the natural cycle, but I've seen way too many drastic drops (and even a few drastic increases) that coincided directly with an upgrade.

Usually it's not a case of players ratings changing, just a difference in how the game evaluates players and how your scout views them. If the conversion changed ratings people would be screaming bloody murder on the OOTP forums.

Also, while I am underwhelmed with the feature list it's important to remember that a league isn't sustainable if it never upgrades. It would be impossible to replace owners when they leave. We don't have a ton of turnover in this league but there's at least 2 teams right now that are on the fence.

OK perhaps I used the wrong words, but yes talent evaluation certainly changes a lot. And I'm never against upgrading, but seems like we're always upgrading and never with a sustained time on a version that is working well. That being said, if the features in a new version blow away our current version, it may be a no brainer. I think everyone does enough analysis before we move on that I'm not really too worried in either direction.

I'd hate for the league to have to take another hiatus, so I say we wait until other leagues switch and test things out. However, I do see some things that, if implemented properly, sound nice.

although i admit, i do like the idea of having higher rated draft picks... sick of waiting for all those 2-3 actual with 7-8 potentials to develop.
