Done with season 2...both of them I finished with winning records but melted down the last few weeks and missed the wild-card both times.

I really like the front screen now. Once you get used to the interface it's just as easy as X and I like the additional information right there for you.

Injuries are there but nothing too bad. I turned them down to low for 1 season and hardly anybody got hurt...I am going back up to normal for season three.

The additional stats are nice. The fielding stats and pitcher stats (FIP, ERA+) are things I've never heard of but for those baseball guru's just more meat in the pie.

As for story lines I haven't seen anything...but I don't know what I'm looking for. Suspensions aren't out of control either.

I also really like being able to compare players side by side, mass selecting guys, and the new record book features.

BTW, FIP stands for Fielding Independent Pitching.

Basically, its a stat documenting what's in the pitchers control (strikeouts, walks and home runs allowed) and then mixed with a number (usually 3 or around there) and that's how you get FIP.

So, anyone that strikes out a ton of guys, avoids walks and doesn't give up home runs is going to be considered a superstar by FIP standards.

One of the additional "fun" things are the baseball cards. Here is one from Alan's FOOL-X league (fast sim) that he runs.

There are a few mods I've seen on the OOTP forums that you can use for Hall of Fame or different awards.

I agree a custom card would like nicer but this is an easy shortcut to add graphical joy and happiness to the league.

Relying on busy owners to make stuff hasn't worked too well IMO.

Does OOTP11 have FIP and UZR stats?

Well my owner died today...yes died.

I was informed that his 35 year old son is taking over. Dad was Lenient but an Economizer. Son is Tolerant but Charitable and expects me to Win the Championship. I'll probably be looking for work soon.

I just finished up year 3 which was really season 5. I cleared all the stats and history after season #2 because there were .400+ hitters all over the place. Like usual OOTP starts out hot hitting and then tapers off.

Playing this game on SP is a cinch. You basically have to set house rules because the AI is infamous for poor trades and cutting prospects.

I don't think I can even play SP anymore.

Yea, the only way I play SP is in God-mode and watching the league evolve. The solo-player experience leaves a lot to be desired especially after playing in online leagues for so long now.

now that I'm in BLB and FoD I'm sure I'll never touch SP again.

It's fun for me in that it's helping me learn this game better. Ratings, prospects, strategy. The AI is dumb though compared to the owners here...well most of them.

Mostly though I'm just playing to test out 11.

                              Solo Play Question

                              Since we're on the topic...

I have a solo historical league running in OOTP X. It's the last day of the 1962 regular season and depending on the outcome of two games, there could be a three-way tie for 1st place in the American League. Does anybody know how OOTP will handle this if it comes to fruition? Obviously I can just sim and find out. But if OOTP handles it in a "goofy" way; maybe there's something I can do to make it less goofy?
