  • DL Playoff Chase

With Maine and Mississippi both having locked up playoff spots, there are only two spots remaining: The Pilsner and the Wild Card. Let's see what we have.

    Pilsner
    <table style="border-collapse: collapse; width: 491pt;" width="654" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><col style="width: 107pt;" width="142"> <col style="width: 48pt;" width="64" span="8"> <tbody><tr style="height: 15pt;" height="20"> <td class="xl65" style="height: 15pt; width: 107pt;" width="142" align="center" height="20">Team</td> <td class="xl65" style="width: 48pt;" width="64" align="center">W</td> <td class="xl65" style="width: 48pt;" width="64" align="center">L</td> <td class="xl65" style="width: 48pt;" width="64" align="center">PCT</td> <td class="xl65" style="width: 48pt;" width="64" align="center">GB</td> <td class="xl65" style="width: 48pt;" width="64" align="center">Home</td> <td class="xl65" style="width: 48pt;" width="64" align="center">Away</td> <td class="xl65" style="width: 48pt;" width="64" align="center">Streak</td> <td class="xl65" style="width: 48pt;" width="64" align="center">Last10</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 15pt;" height="20"> <td class="xl65" style="height: 15pt;" align="center" height="20">Denver Bulls</td> <td class="xl65" align="center">89</td> <td class="xl65" align="center">66</td> <td class="xl65" align="center">0.574</td> <td class="xl65" align="center">-</td> <td class="xl65" align="center">37-40</td> <td class="xl65" align="center">52-26</td> <td class="xl65" align="center">W1</td> <td class="xl66" align="center">6-4</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 15pt;" height="20"> <td class="xl65" style="height: 15pt;" align="center" height="20">Indianapolis Clowns</td> <td class="xl65" align="center">86</td> <td class="xl65" align="center">69</td> <td class="xl65" align="center">0.555</td> <td class="xl65" align="center">3</td> <td class="xl65" align="center">42-32</td> <td class="xl65" align="center">44-37</td> <td class="xl65" align="center">L3</td> <td class="xl66" align="center">4-6</td> </tr> <tr style="height: 15pt;" height="20"> <td class="xl65" style="height: 15pt;" align="center" height="20">Dallas Snappers</td> <td class="xl65" align="center">84</td> <td class="xl65" align="center">71</td> <td class="xl65" align="center">0.542</td> <td class="xl65" align="center">5</td> <td class="xl65" align="center">36-42</td> <td class="xl65" align="center">48-29</td> <td class="xl65" align="center">W4</td> <td class="xl66" align="center">4-6</td> </tr> </tbody></table>
    Remaining games
    Denver - 3 @ Indy (86-69), 4 vs Dallas (84-71)
    Indy - 3 vs Denver (89-66), 4 vs Syracuse (80-75)
    Dallas - 3 vs Syracuse (80-75), 4 at Denver (89-66)

Wow, that's pretty incestuous there. All are division games, with Syracuse being no slouch in the contest bring 14-9 in September. Denver is not a great home team and get the Snappers there coming off a sweep of Indy. Indy just gave away a bunch of games last week and looks to rebound. However they get one of the best road teams in the league in Denver.

We see this coming out as Denver winning the division by around 2-3 games.

    Wild Card

    Remaining games
    Indy - 3 vs Denver (89-66), 4 vs Syracuse (80-75)
    Hartford - 3 vs Pitt (60-95), 4 @ Maine (98-57)
    Dallas - 3 vs Syracuse (80-75), 4 at Denver (89-66)

Well we discussed two of the three teams up top, and now enter the Whalers. With Indy dropping 5 games last week, there's a 3 team race for the WC (with Denver included if they fall off). Indy and Dallas will be fighting with each other and Denver, so there could be a lot of back and forth in the Pilsner. The Whalers are on their own then, first taking on the lowly Millers, and then the ultra-amazing Guides. The thought is the Guides will be resting their starters for the playoffs, giving the Whalers a chance to steal a game or two.

We think a 4-2 week by Hartford gives a tie with Indy and a one-game playoff, with Dallas finishing 1 or 2 games behind.

I didn't realize there were 7 games left. That changes a lot of my thoughts.

The Pilsner is ridiculous, but this is how you want the season to end. Everyone is playing everyone in the division. There's no better way to handle it.

We've totally imploded this month. After the moves we made, we have no excuses not to make the playoffs.

Hey, we're still alive for the WC. Only six games back with 7 to go. I can't believe you left us out.

It saved me one less line to copy in my excel sheet. Can't blame me for being lazy.

Didn't you learn anything from JJ? Gremades is not a winner.

I did not. I'm about to start swearing incoherently and accusing others of making this implosion personal on various levels.

And, its not just the new guys I brought in that are stinking up the joint. The holdovers are adding to the funk as well.

              Fuck?
