Joe Toapanta throwing the no-no was a real treat to watch. I was trying my best not to think about it as I watched it unfold. Come 8th inning though, I started counting down the outs.

I didn't realize his walk in the 7th inning broke up the perfect game... I had figured he'd walked somebody earlier in the game.

Bats for the most part worked well... would have been nice if Sylvestrie came to play though.

Another odd thing I saw this week was the number of runners I had thrown out on the basepaths. Maybe the IL has weaker OF'er arms, but I've never seen so many guys thrown out in one week trying to take an extra base.
3.0 game lead in the Porter and arguably playing your best ball of the season. Your team looks scarey right now.

No, no... my spelling always does. His team started slowly.

That's the 6th error Syracuse has now taken advantage of this week.

          hahaha.

To be fair, we had 22 hits in game 3. But you definately left game 1 on the table. Cannell singlehandedly won that game for us.

          Fun series though.

              FACT:

Two teams (Maine in '86 and Pittsburgh in '85) finished with winning percentages of .700 or higher having both won 114 games.

              Neither team won the championship.

Keep that in mind when your team has a few more 4-2 sims.

Again... I don't dimish your accomplishments in the series. However, A LOT of those 22 hits (which you earned) came after errors that could have ended innings. But, I made them... I only have myself to blame.

What's funny is I used to be in an OOTP league when the game first game out up through it's first 5 versions. We used to joke about the "Presidents Cup" curse.

Seriously, every time you had the best record, you'd flop in the playoffs. You would get nervous at the end of the year if your team had the best record.

This played out over 20+ seasons. It's not as bad in our league though I don't think. Maybe I should look that up?

Ok so after 10 seasons the team with the best record in the BLB wins it all at a 30% clip.

                      4-2 Sim
                      1-2 @ Dallas
                      3-0 @ Denver

Pretty competitive games this week. Sure love playing in the DH league. Much easier being a manger in that league...

                      The Good
-Miguel Angel Padilla and Eddie O'Fallon combined for five homeruns, ten RBI and a .950+ OPS. I am going to need more power from my lineup and these are where I will look.
-SP Jody Kurtz was called up to complete the six-man rotation to ease the stress on the rest of my arms. I wasn't expecting this. Three starts, team is 3-0 in those starts (2-0, ND), 21 innings, 3 ER. Probably smoke and mirrors, but I'll take it!

                      The Bad
-SP Joe Rodriguez is going through one of his standard slumps. I swear every year this guy will be hot for 3/4 of the season, then he will have a two-three starts in a row where he gives up 20 ERs. Hopefully he rides this cold streak out by the end of September.

                      The Injured
-Dave Robbins returns to the lineup in the middle of this week. I am counting on him to supply some of that power my team has been missing in recent weeks.
                      Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-
                      Seattle Pilots- 2017-2041
                      Washington Bats - 1979-2013
