It's division or bust for us. We lost so much ground the last few months that we're too far out of it. Now it seems Davenport and us are lockstep. I see a one game playoff in our future.

You can remove us from the discussion at this point. We look done. We peaked early and have recently crashed to the ground. Our staff looks like every single member decided to go on vacation at the same time.

I blame it on Jeremy Windley.

We were cruising along until he joined the clubhouse. Since then we are 6-14 and have lost a 4 game lead in the division. We apparently need chemotherapy.

I agree. I think we were done once I made the Grandon trade. I thought Lopez would be fine after he threw a gem in his first game against his former mates. I was dead wrong. Right now...I'm praying for a miracle named Tommy Lang. He's doing well even though he gets no offensive or bullpen support.

At least Windley is playing pretty well. I do think Josey being out hurts. If you can stay in the hunt till he gets back, it's a nice boost coming.

It's as if people predicted when that trade went down that California not only "won" the trade, but they'd likely make the playoffs this season and be in great position for next.... oh wait.

I'm not as concerned about Josey (though it will be nice to have him back once he's healthy) as I am my pitching staff. I just need my entire staff to pitch to their capabilities. Each and every one of them struggled through the month of July.

Are u still holding on to that? You are like that gambling addict that forgets he got 100 bets wrong if he gets one right.

So if a guy makes a game winning shot it's diminished by the fact that he doesn't shoot 100% from the field?

It's only early August. A lot of things could happen before the end of the year.

Absolutely... it's super early... but... post deadline till September is usually a slow chat time on the board so I was just trying to post something to spark conversation.
