Hey Andrew...halfway through the week, it won't let me watch replays for Thurs-Sun. Know why this is?

In fact, no box scores for any games past Wed.

Strange. I just re-uploaded the league files so maybe try downloading again.

Also re-uploading the html just to be safe.

You think maybe you can re-upload the files again? Please?

So I would love to see my team fight a bit. They have no capacity for coming back at all. When we get down (which typically is in the first inning...) we can't ever turn it on enough to get back on top, or if we do our pitchers continue to hemorrhage runs.

I am really beginning to hate this team.

Crazy last game with Hyundai in our series.

14 innings. Hyundai took the lead in both the 12th and 13th inning, only to find Denver scratching back with two outs in the bottom portion. Finally, a bases loaded walk ends it. Go figure.

                4-2

                vs. Virginia 2-1
                vs. Carolina 2-1

Lost an extra-inning heart breaker to start off the week...would have put me in sole position of 3rd in the Porter...oh well!

                Good

                - OF Shaw Barnes has played well since being called up. This week he hit .304 with 1 HR and 9 RBI's.
                - In his last 10 games, CL Ken Bayer has 1 win and 6 saves while allowing only 1 run.
                - Got some nice rating bumps in the minors
                - SP Melon throws 6 shutout innings with 4 K's and 2 BB's

                Bad

                - De Jesus hits .318 with 7 hits on the week...but only 1 RBI. We need to get some people on base in front of him.
                - SP's Coronda and Stephens both got shelled in their 6 inning outings
                - Lost CF Gilbert for a few weeks...that's four guys down in two weeks.
                - Activated 1 off the minor league DL...lost 2 more...back to 11. Not sure what is going on with the minors this year.

Looks like the Porter and the last playoff spot is going to be awfully interesting.

                    5-2 sim.

Nothing new to report - still tied with Windy City.

O'Loughlin got roughed up against Philly, I hope that's not a sign of things to come. But how about 34 year old starting pitcher Pat Andrews, I called him up to receive his fourth BLB start. He responded by having a decent outing that resulted in his second career win: 7 IP 1 ER 3 BB 3 K.

Next week will be a tough one. Heading to Washington for three, then back home for a series vs Virginia.

                      Virginia Colonials (60-51)
2nd in Stout (That ship has sailed)
2nd in WC Race (1.0 gb)

                      1-2 @ Batavia
                      2-1 vs Los Alamos

                      Batavia Series:

The two hottest teams in the IL went head to head and delivered. Three hard fought battles were waged with the Colonials stealing the first game late, the Muckers winning a defensive battle in the middle frame and Batavia getting to the Virginia Pen to claim the series. Both teams played well, but the Colonials bullpen let them down (three blown saves in two games) and the lineup sorely missed the injured Vincent Nino. Alberto Hernando did got 4 for 8 in his return to the starting lineup as an injury replacement.

                      Los Alamos Series:

After getting touched up late against Batavia, Virginia returned the favor against the Bandits scoring 9 of their 16 total runs in the series after the 6th inning. After taking the first two games in come from behind fashion, the team checked out of Game 3 and got tagged by two big innings in the final matchup. As is usually the case, Los Alamos brought the big boy bats to town and touched up Colonial pitching for 6 longballs in the series. Vincent Nino returned from injury over the weekend, however, Mr. Colonial Danny Nelson, who hit 2 HRs this week, will sit out next week after complaining of concussion like symptoms after fielding a routine flyball.

                      Bottomline:

Not going to complain about losing 2 close games at Batavia when I easily could have lost the two close ones that I won in LA. My pitching let me down all week in very pedestrian efforts from top to bottom. As good as the pen was last week, they looked to be in shambles this time through. Hoping the Simmonds injury isn't starting to show it's effects.

All that being said, we still sit just 1.0 game back in the Wildcard race with games still on the schedule against nearly all of the teams in the pack (we're done with B'More and Batavia). The Danny Nelson injury costs us a little defense and power, but it does allow us to give Florian Tosselli a chance to get a solid week of starts and adds that extra lefty bat.

Huge week coming up against two of the other pack teams. Need a series win in California in a bad way. It sets up to miss Wilkerson, but the Kodiaks would have the option of pitching him on short rest in Game 3. It'll be interesting to see if they take that chance this late in the season.
                      The Great One!

Rare week where our hitting carried our pitching. Again though connected by the brain to Davenport. Nobody is making a move. I'm scared to lose a game because we'll fall behind.

LOVE the way Clarence Wetton is developing. This is one of those rare times when a guy actually develops exactly as you expected. He's adding more power than I thought though. Would like to see him get over .300 for the year. At 24 I see a long career for him in WC.

                          Washington Bats (77-34)

                          2-1 @ Philly

Surprised I swept the Bandits. Not surprised that I took two of three from Brad. He always lets me win the series.

                          The Good
-Miguel Angel Padilla is baaaaaaaaack! He was 13/22 this sim, with two HRs and eight RBI...in five games.
-Jerry Fortin made his debut with a bang! Hit a homerun in his first game and ended the week with a .444 OBP. Guy takes walks like it's his job.

                          The Bad
-Not a lot to complain about this week...the one loss was a really close game.

                          The Farm
-Top prospect Clint Johnston is on fire! After a slow start in Triple-A the infielder has hit .448 in the month of August.
-All my teams, AAA, AA, A, are in first place.

At this point I think it's hard coded into our league file that a 3 game reg. season series between the Bats and Freedom will always result in a 2-1 series win for Washington. Every series we've ever played has ended up with that result. It's uncanny.
