Philadelphia Freedom (56 - 42, t-1st)
1-6 Overall
1-2 vs. Wilmington
0-4 @ Batavia
Awful, just awful. We saw a four game lead in the standings evaporate in one week. Our pitching staff went from 1st in the league in ERA to 3rd in the span of 1 week. The majority of that damage was inflicted by/against our bullpen as just about every member of the pen was just dreadful this week.
Good:
-Geoof Scott posted a .391 | .588 | .783 | 1.371 line including a double, triple and 2 HRs among his 9 hits. He drove in 7 runs and scored 6. He also drew 11 BBs
-3B Juan Coera is beginning to heat up a little and he produced a week of .333 | .455 | .593 | 1.047
-1B Joe Seagarra - hopefully this is the beginning of a long hot stretch for Joe. .348 | .484 | .391 | .875. Not a good week of slugging, but we’ll take that OBP any time.
Not as Good:
-The pitching was ridiculous. Several games lost due to the bullpen’s inability to hold a lead or extend games. This is two weeks in a row where the staff has just not gotten the job done. If our bullpen has truly hit a wall, we are done.
